Wallace Seeks Solace Short Film

A short film displaying an innocent view of the holocaust through the eyes of a child. Shot on 16mm.

Short Summary

Wallace Seeks Solace is a short 16mm Color film about a young Jewish boy's journey during the Holocaust. The film is treated like a children's book, narration and all.

The film will have the feeling of a picture book coming to life. It will all be narrated by one person, including the dialogue. And every line will be rhyming like a Dr. Seuss book. This will intensely contrast with the dramatic nature of the story.

*Despite artwork and unique film narration, this short film is in fact a live-action drama.*

The way we tell the story will also compliment the visuals we will be creating. We want to build our own sets to create a hyper-reality. An example of this will be the nine-story bunk bed that will be in the "concentration bunk" set.

This lens will bring out the true innocence that was prevalent during this horrific time.

We have a cast and crew of around 25 people! All students from Emerson College! We will be building our own sets, as well as shooting all over the Boston Metro Area!

What We Need & What You Get

We have a bunch of cool rewards for those who donate!

The money will go to the processing and transferring of the film, as well as allowing us to create the surreal environment that will make this short film different than all other short films of it's genre.

We also need to rent trucks to transport the equipment that we need to rent as well.

The Impact

The Holocaust is a very touchy subject. Many films have shown the terrible events that took place, and the amazing stories that occured during this time.

This film is taking an approach that has never been taken before. It not only focuses on a single child's journey, but it shows the events through his eyes. This is a film that everyone between the ages of 10 and 100 could take something from. Disturbing in its nature, Wallace Seeks Solace will attempt a new approach to raise remembrance of an event that should never happen again.
