Voice of Armenians TV NY (VOA-TV NY) is an independent bilingual Armenian-English television station with the ultimate goal of providing cultural, political and entertainment news about the life of the Armenian Diaspora in the New York Metropolitan area.
We are proud of our work and achievements on behalf of our community.
In the nearly two years since its inception, VOA-TV NY has provided to our audience in-depth interviews with many prominent members of our community, including religious leaders, influential political figures, benefactors, and accomplished artists and scholars.
Collaborating with Armenian doctors, lawyers and other professionals, we produce valuable programming with the aim of giving our viewers access to medical and legal advice.
Most importantly, we create an online archive documenting the life of our rich and vibrant community: we believe that one generation can inspire the other to continue advancing the Armenian cause and interest around the world.
We are also the proud recipients of the “2012 The Best Television Show of Diaspora” award at the Sixth International Conference of Journalists in Armenia.
Running a weekly television program is an extremely rewarding experience. It is also a very demanding and costly endeavor. Although everyone at VOA-TV NY largely donates their time and labor to the station, our show still faces pressing expenses, such as broadcast, production and equipment fees.
We are fundraising now to meet our increased financial needs in 2013. We ask for your generous support to help us raise the necessary funds to:
I) Purchase new broadcast quality equipment, including a second HD Camera unit, upgraded quality sound equipment, and professional grade studio lighting package; and
II) Move our weekly program from the Saturday, 4:00 p.m. EST spot to a prime time EST spot (increased weekly fees).
We anticipate that a prime time broadcast and the purchase of new equipment will cost at least $20,000.
VOA-TV NY broadcasts on "NYC TV Life," Ch. 25, and can be seen on Verizon FIOS, Time Warner, Cablevision, Comcast, RCN, Direct TV, and Dish Network. NYC TV Life is the fifth largest television network in the New York City metropolitan area, and reaches over 18 million households.
VOA-TV NY reaches a global audience on line and may be seen in Russia, Armenia, Europe and the Middle East, to name a few.
