Unfinished Business is a ghostly adventure film that takes place in Roswell, New Mexico, a paranormal center of activity that has seen its share of chupacabras, crashed UFOs, and ghostly spirits ranging about the high plains.
This film-noir flavored action film will be shot in southeastern New Mexico in Roswell and Artesia in the United States. It is going to include incredible items from ETSY artists and collectors, fascinating STEAMPUNK GHOST HUNTING GEAR, sensual GOTH elements, and even more! Some of the locations we are looking at are Bottomless Lakes State Park, Eastern New Mexico State University at Roswell, and the Artesia Studio (shown below).

We already have a number of wonderfully talented people coming on board to bring the characters to life through acting, and give it the perfect look through their talents as crew. We'll add Cast and Crew below as they commit to the project and get us their biographical details.
Don't forget that once we meet our goal you can keep pledging! Every penny that is pledged will be up on that screen and the more pennies we get the cooler that reflected image is gonna be! The funds are just a part of the whole budget and will be used to pay cast and crew, buy props, wardrobe, pay fees, bring in incredible Special FX, feed everyone, and everything else associated with making sure the film is completed. This campaign is going to end with enough to get us through pre-production and put a nice dent in the production phase. We'll start another campaign soon for the production phase.

You can find out more about us, this film, and our other projects at Vivid Light Pictures. Thank you, in advance, to EVERYONE who contributes. We love each of you!

Agent Nick Casey of the International Bureau of Investigation (IBI) is working with his partner Agent Richie Faraday to bring down the villainous Madeline Taylor. Before they can find out what new game the Drug Queen is up to she has Agent Casey killed and Agent Faraday put out of commission. You’d think that would be the end of their involvement in the case, but it’s only the beginning.
When the case is handed over to Agent Maggie Rhodes she gets a new partner that no one was expecting: the ghost of Agent Casey! The two agents work with paranormal scientist Dr. Josh Byrnes and his Steampunk-styled ghost hunting equipment to see if they can figure out why they have been thrown together. The unusual situation does not slow down their efforts to stop Madeline, especially when they discover that she is moving into the deadly world of arms dealing and terrorism.
While fighting villains both living and dead, Maggie and Nick have to wonder whether his Unfinished Business is to stop the woman who had him killed or to be with the woman he was meant to love.

Role of TIFFANY
Sarah Mitchell (Hellums) works hard to help others in her day-to-day activities with the Anti-Drug & Crime Coalition in Artesia, NM. She's also multi-talented in that she has already appeared in the Lead Role of the film "Crystal Clear".
We're thrilled to have Sarah join us to play the role of TIFFANY, far-seeing barista in a local coffee house. Tiffany can see things about people that not everyone else can see -- and she has no qualms about sharing that info, whether you want to hear it or not
Role of JOHNNY O'ROURKE

Zod Grey Buckley was born in Denver, but grew up in New Mexico, where his family has lived for over four generations. He has been studying literature and creative writing for the past few years in college, and enjoys literature as a hobby. Zod has had some experience with acting, including small plays and improv.
We're very excited that Zod has joined us to portray the character JOHNNY O'ROURKE, wise-cracking assassin who finds it hard to stop killing even after he's dead.
Role of ALEX CAMERON

Mike Smith began acting in the 1960s and has appeared in college and civic theater productions in Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico. He more recently began his work in films and has appeared in numerous films including: Coyote County Loser, Love Ranch, Year One, and The Rambler. In addition he has appeared in commercials both local and international and the TV show Breaking Bad.
Mike is a wonderful addition to our cast and he will breathe warmth and life into the character of ALEX CAMERON, Regional Director of the International Bureau of Investigation and a man anxious to end the reign of Madeline Taylor.

Kenny Holdeman has most recently had a life centered around running a truck-driving school, but his deep, gravelly voice has long been popular at pleasing crowds as a singer. He has done Voice Over work and most recently used that ability in the short film The Hunt. Now, Kenny is ready to branch into acting as he begins with his first onscreen role in Unfinished Business.
Kenny has a friendly yet don't-push-me demeanor that he will bring to the character of IKE, the bartender at the watering hole where some of our heroes hang out when working on new plans to bring down the baddies.
Role of HORATIO

Curtis Folts has been playing on the live stage since 1989, he has also been caught by the occasional stray film as it travelled through Roswell, New Mexico, his home town. Curtis enjoys exploring new avenues of creativity, via a variety of art forms, an addictive reading habit, editing, and of course acting. When not acting, or astrally projecting himself onto Facebook, Curtis can be found in his living room giving belly rubs to one of their four dogs or chin scritches to their cat.
We know that you'll enjoy Curtis as the character of HORATIO, the upright British butler to the villainous Madeline Taylor. Horatio has no problem cleaning up after murder and he never even messes up his pristine white gloves.
Role of MOLLY

Debbie Marie Van Der Veen was born in California and moved to New Mexico in the '90s. Debbie has worked as a weather reporter for a local TV station, has appeared in local theater productions, and had her acting debut in the film Crystal Clear. Currently, Debbie's involved in helping plan city-wide events and welcoming new businesses and residents to the town of Artesia, New Mexico.
We're so happy to have Debbie join us to play the character of MOLLY, the sweet but disheartened girlfriend of International Bureau of Investigation Agent Rich Faraday. She does her best to find out what's really going on with him.

BRAGOVA:

Besides playing with fractals, I work on music with my husband, composer John Mitchell, and maintain our website, abm-enterprises.net (the abm stands for Adolf, Benjamin and Matthew, three of our cats). Free 800 x 600 pixel versions of my fractals for desktop wallpaper are at abm-enterprises.net/wallpaper.html.
My approach to fractals is related to an interest in photography--I've done a lot of it, some professionally. With fractals as with photos, I choose what to look at, study the light and shadows, manipulate the colors--but the material has its own structure. It's divine geometry.
I was born in the US, Washington State, but have traveled and lived in other countries. Educated at Stanford and UCLA (Romance languages and linguistics).
DECADENT DESIGNS:

I specialize in custom made clothing for women. My line of clothing includes sophisticated evening wear, chic cocktail dresses, a variety of edgy separates to mix and match with an existing wardrobe, as well as whimsical, eye-catching pieces for those with a flare for the avant-garde. All garments are designed and handmade by me, with great care and top quality craftsmanship.
DREAMED DESIGNED:

This journey began in the world of textiles, when, as a young lady, she learned not only how to sew but also how to design patterns for everyday articles of clothing. She also studied drawing and calligraphy. As the years went by, she added many more skills to this list, ranging from crochet to paper arts to jewelry making.
Today, she works as both merchant and contraptor, selling her wares to chronauts around the world at the Dreamed Designed shop. The items she creates are an amalgamation of her lifelong interests, such as functional pattern design, as well as newly mastered skills and passions, including leather and metal smithing. She enjoys the value placed on innovation within the steampunk community, and this is why Dreamed Designed is so open to custom orders: your ideas keep the gears of imagination turning!
InStyle Magazine describes Marelle's work as "stunning, of superior quality, haute couture, ahead of our time."
KAMBRIEL:

Darkly elegant, handcrafted clothing and accessory designs for "Femme Fatales and Decadent Gentlemen", since 1994.
Kambriel designs have been worn on the Academy Awards red carpet by master storyteller Neil Gaiman, on stage by musicians such as Amanda Palmer and Information Society, and were personally selected by curator Valerie Steele to be featured in the iconic "Gothic: Dark Glamour" exhibit at the Museum at FIT in New York City.
Through the years, I've held dear to my original passion by creating unique pieces that bring the reflection of your inner-self onto your outer-self; clothing and accessories that bring you a little closer to your dreams.

These are my original hoodie designs, which have evolved with much love over the past 20 years of my wanderings. I try to infuse my work with the bohemian spirit in which I live my life. I know that sounds like a bunch of hippy drivel, but IT'S TRUE! haha.
MORTICIA SNOW:

Welcome to my jewelry with a past! Each of my one of a kind pieces is designed and made by me personally in my studio. I get excited over sparkly vintage jewels, lucky talismans and amulets, Day of the Dead, religious pieces from all faiths, nature and Halloween all year long! I love to tell stories with my work. Please let me incorporate your special vintage keepsakes into a family heirloom.
NEVER TOO MUCH GLITTER:

VICTORIAN MACHINES:

Thanks for stopping by my steam-powered workshop, where you'll find me working away tirelessly to provide you with high quality items at fair prices. I can do this because my workshop is located high up in the Boston Mountains of the Ozarks at an old coal mine that I still use to fire the steam boiler that powers my shop — no joke!
Using a combination of authentic, steam powered 19th-Century machine tools and selected modern equipment, I can offer you the finest in Victorian scientific apparatus. Much of my equipment and inventory were inherited directly from my husband's grandfather, Professor A.D. Conrow, a late 19th and early 20th-Century scientist and inventor. (Some would say quite mad himself!)
VINTAGE OBJECTS SHOPPE:

May your dreams be overflowing with jewels. Ride on cloud nine with me as you explore the vintage jewels and objects I have found for you during my travels. I also design and create one-of-a-kind handmade jewelry just for you!

Although the basic look for Unfinished Business will have film noir elements, there will also be a character who has a decided flair for Steampunk. Dr. Josh Byrnes designs and builds his own paranormal gear and he's a Steampunk man at heart. Below are a series of photos of some of the vintage science equipment that belongs to Geoffrey Notkin. We will be taking this gear (and more) and turning them into Steampunk ghost-hunting equipment. These photos are just to give you an idea of where we're starting.
Trust me, you won't be able to tell what any of this gear was when we finish with it!
The first photo is a set-up that Geoff and his friend Doc put together to search for ghostly audio signals (aka EVPs or Electronic Voice Phenomenon). We will be adding all kinds of copper, brass, gears, steam-lines, etc., to this amazing layout.

Makin' Sure We Got Everything Covered
Even though we know it's impossible to foresee every possible risk and challenge, we're doing our best to be prepared for everything that we can.
We're planning scenes that require underwater shots at a lake, as well as scenes with fires in rooms and exteriors of a house burning down. We're working with diving professionals and firemen and stunt people who have dealt with this kind of work for decades. We see the weather cooling down as a potential problem at the lake and are making allowances in the budget for additional equipment and personnel.
Another challenge is one that frequently confronts filmmakers. What if we don't get everything shot in the four week schedule that we're allowing ourselves? Suppose the weather is against us or an actor becomes ill? We've built an extra percentage into the budget to cover contingencies like this one.
We're going to be employing ghostly make-up and fantastic special FX displays, so we'll be utilizing practical as well as digital technology to the max to get amazing looks onscreen. These can lead to timing issues and problems with make-up under the lights. We have make-up artists and digital FX people that are already planning ahead. We're working on looks that we know can be produced for the budget we have and still be cutting edge. They have to be comfortable for the actors and functional, too. That's why we're testing so many of them ahead of time.
Also, we're planning on using RED digital technology to film our movie and are looking forward to exploring the possibilities it offers us. We know there needs to be extra time to convert files for editing in Final Cut Pro. We see this as a challenge worth working with to ensure the best possible quality in the finish product.
We're out in the middle of nowhere. Really. Have you ever been here? It's a beautiful area, but it's no wonder we have military bases that test wild things and UFOs tend to frequent the skies. There's a lot of desert to cross to get here. We may have problems getting people and equipment that we need WHEN we need them. That's one reason we're already planning a shoot that isn't happening for a couple of months. We want lower airfares, discounted hotel rates, great deals on catering, plenty of time for bringing in equipment trucks, and a clear view of options available to us. By planning now, we hope to clear as many hurdles as we can ahead of time.
We're bringing on the best cast and crew that we can find from, really, all over the world and we're shooting in a beautiful area of New Mexico in the US. We're looking at our risks and challenges in a positive light and as chances to learn and grow and produce an even better movie. We know there are going to be hurdles than we don't see coming and we're watching extra episodes of MacGyver to be prepared to do what we have to so that everything works.
