The final update! The last of the orders were sent out at the beginning of the week with Canada Post. They can take up to 7 business days to arrive to you. If you would like your tracking number, please be in touch and I can e-mail it to you.

Now, I’m equally excited to share with you Radhika, the child I was able to sponsor at Ramana’s Garden (http://sayyesnow.org) with your support.

Ramana’s Garden in Laxman Jhula, India is an incredible place. The labyrinth of buildings made form natural materials and organic gardens is the home for 60 children, previously orphaned or in dangerous situations. What impressed me at Ramana’s Garden, was the atmosphere of holistic healing, creative education and an abundance of love. Along side core subjects such as Hindi, Math, English, is also an emphasis on the arts. The children are a big family that works as a community. Everyone helps out from preparation of meals from the organic garden to the construction of a new classroom. Compassion, optimism, hope and gratitude are the values instilled through the belief, you learn what you live.

I hope everyone loves their new bags and scarves, and I would love if you shared your thoughts with me! From the good to feedback on how to improve UNA Fashion, I’m all ears ☺ Alternatively, take some photos and tag them with @UNAfashion on Facebook (“like” the page here: http://www.facebook.com/UNAFashion) or on instagram (http://instagram.com/unafashion/)!

Thanks again!

Meg

Fulfilment Update:

The eco-leather bags have landed on North American soil!! I’m awaiting customs clearance in the U.S., and they’ll be here in Canada any day now. So excited to get the orders sent out to my wonderful supporters!

Everyone who ordered scarves (without a leather bag), the organic cotton bag, and the “chalkboard thank you”, should have received the goods in December. Please e-mail or message me if you have not received your package.

I will post another update next week once I have sent the rest of the orders!

Cheers! Xx

Happy Holidays!

I was so confident and hopeful I would be able to deliver the leather products in time for the holidays, but unfortunately this will not be possible. There was an issue with snaps, which is now sorted! Not in time for the holidays, however, I am eagerly anticipating the arrival of the bags early in the New Year. Looking forward to delivering the next exciting update when I officially have the bags on the way to all my fantastic supporters!

Thanks to all of you it’s been a successful campaign!

You can expect an e-mail from me this week to confirm the details of your order, such as the style of bag, colors & verifying your shipping address. While I have received the scarfs and organic cotton items, I’m expecting the leather bags to be dispatched from India by next week, coming to Canada by air. There have been surprises delaying the order, but this also means the best product in the end. I’m hopeful I will have everything sent to you in time for Christmas, and I will keep you updated. Also, stay tuned for news about the initiative to support education for children in India!

Thank you again for being integral in launching my dream!!! Xx

To mark the final 7 days of the crowdfunding campaign coinciding with Fair Tuesday, 25% of purchases will be donated to sponsor orphans or severely at risk children in Rishikesh, India.

UNA Fashion is proud to be a partner of the Fair Tuesday initiative. The goal of #FairTuesday is to inspire conscious consumption and show how as a consumer, you have the power to create positive change! (www.fairtuesday.org)

The fair trade certified organization crafting UNA’s designs empower artisans to live free and dignified lives. With global market connections, trade, not aid, is fueling sustainable development in their families and communities.

But what about children who are at risk or have lost their families? India has an estimated 31 million orphaned children under the age of 17, according to UNICEF. A staggering 100 million children live on the streets and do not attend school.

Volunteering and spending time with several schools and orphanages throughout India was an eye opener. It also reinforced the belief that every child has a right to education and it is a vital tool for peace, development and freedom. The sponsorship will provide everything from proper nutrition (mostly from their own organic garden), healthcare, education, books and a home with a family of 60+ children full of compassion and love.

Help UNA Fashion finish strong by making a pledge and sharing the campaign (www.indiegogo.com/unafashion) with your social networks, family and friends! Nearly 80% funded and only 7 days to go! I am overwhelmed and grateful for your continued support! Thank you!!!
