Our StoryIn 2008, Liah Alonso and I (Kelly Halloran) formed the band Left on Red. Since then we've devoted ourselves 100% to the band, supporting ourselves and Left on Red's growth by busking (street performing) in NYC's subways and parks. Our intentions were to play positive music as much as we could for as many people as we could reach. The subways were perfect! By the third year (now), we've recorded a 5 song demo, a 7 song EP which has been played on over 150 college and non-commercial radio stations across the US. We've performed over 350 shows across the US and internationally including shows in hospitals and nursing homes and benefits for many non-profit organizations we believe in. We are happy and grateful for Left on Red's accomplishments and are excited to be at a MAJOR landmark in our career..we are gearing up to release our first full-length record titled "TRACKS".
We have been working nonstop on the recording from the beginning of November and have 13 amazing songs, an inspiring and original concept for the album, an incredible producer (who has worked with artists such as Ani DiFranco, Patty Griffin, and Better than Ezra). The record is almost finished but we can't finish or release it without the funding! We've gotten this far and now we are asking for the help of our families, friends, and fans to bring TRACKS into the world! For More information visit our website: www.leftonredmusic.com
TRACKS is an expression of the busking experience that inspires and informs our reality each day we play. Many of the songs on TRACKS were inspired by, developed in, or written in the subways. The songs are interwoven with sound samples we collected underground. TRACKS includes songs like "The Extra Mile" about being determined to move past the challenges of life, "Subletter's Lament" a funny song about our experiences subletting in NYC, and "Set Me Free" an inspiring song about individual strength. Other songs on the record you've heard us perform live include "The Way of the Zebra", "Gone, Long Gone", and "Breath".
What We Need & What You Get
The costs involved in finishing and releasing this record include paying producers, musicians, studios, mastering, duplicating, artwork, and publicity. We need $12,000 to make this happen. It sounds like a lot of money for two girls who play in the subway but we know it is possible.
When you pre-order TRACKS or buy any of the packages to the right, you will receive the album before anybody else as well as enjoy the benefits that we've put together for you.
THANK YOU so much for reading this and being a part of our journey as Left on Red.
We know you will enjoy TRACKS!
