Hello Friends of Milestone – An update…

The past few weeks have been especially busy. We were in final production and QA mode and discovered an issue related to battery life. Despite our initial testing it turns out the battery does not last long enough before needing to be replaced. We promised 18-26 weeks, or roughly one pair of shoes for the great majority of people, and the current design fails this test.
Unfortunately, this left us only one real choice, to delay shipping so we could deliver the product we promised and more. We expect to start shipping products in September. We are sorry.

There is some good news… The Pods we deliver will have features we were not going to deliver in the first version. We have been developing the ability to track biometric information of runners and walkers. We intend to include one or more of these measures in the Pod we ship you. As you also saw in the last update we have included Bluetooth on the Pod so this information can be uploaded to your mobile device whenever you sync. This additional information will provide a richer set of insights and further help you maximize your performance and health while running or walking.

We understand this is disappointing. We hope seizing on what is certainly a small setback and turning it into an opportunity to ship a stronger Pod somewhat makes up for this. As a thank you for your patience with this delay we will be sending everyone who participated in the Indiegogo campaign a free MilestonePod tech tee. THANK YOU to all who participated in the Milestone campaign on Indiegogo. While we have been somewhat quiet to the outside world we are making a lot of noise internally and working hard to deliver the MilestonePod.

While in development we decided to add a few features we did not expect to be able to offer. These include:

• BlueTooth on the MilestonePod and a mobile application.
• Capturing more information on the Pod and displaying it via the mobile app. You can still run using only the Pod but now you can sync with your mobile device whenever you like. This enables you to see information such as distance to the tenth of the mile, pace, run history, cadence and more. Remember, we are not necessarily trying to replace your GPS but we are trying to give as much information as possible.

We will be providing updates more regularly as we get closer to the delivery date. Thank you again for your participation and we look forward to seeing many runners with Pods throughout 2103 and beyond

Well… The Indiegogo campaign has ended. THANK YOU to everyone who supported us, posted about us, Tweeted for us and everything else you did.

Though we did not hit our goal we are very pleased with the campaign. We received orders on Indiegogo (and offline) for almost 2,000 Pods which includes orders from eight retailers, two races, three racing clubs, 13 countries, one nationally known non-profit focused on wellness and many others.

We are now focused on delivering an exceptional product to those who pre-ordered and to building a great company. We will deliver.
