Some months ago I announced having a smaller draft from Brockie. At the time I had to decide whether or not to hire another writer to fill it out so we could have something to push out the door, or trust Brockie when he said he's got a lot more coming. I decided to trust Brockie. The thing was already very late and I made the call that "Late + What We Signed Up For" was better than "Late + Contingency Plan."
Today I received from Australia (GWAR is on tour...) a 17k+ word draft from Brockie - already a quite respectable length the equal to many LotFP adventures - with promise of another 5000 (give or take) to come. With the history of the project, those added words probably aren't going to drop in tomorrow, but this is an active project and although it's rather inexcusably late and getting later all the time, I am 100% confident that we will be delivering to everyone exactly what they signed up for: Pure Brockie gaming madness.
Also, news for you $100+ backers who are also getting other adventures from the big ol' campaign. One of the others is (finally) about ready to ship.
Forgive Us (formerly Horror Among Thieves) will go on sale together with new (non-crowdfunded adventure) Scenic Dunnsmouth either March 4 or 5. Physical mailouts will begin the next day.
Backers of the appropriate level will receive a DriveThru/RPGNow coupon for the Forgive Us PDF (no watermarks!) as soon as it is live.
Backers for the physical book don't need to order or worry about postage through the LotFP store. (no coupons for combined shipping if you also buy Dunnsmouth though - with last year's big mailouts I thought I was giving away a close-to-cost coupon to cover combined shipping when in fact there was only a small difference in shipping costs adding a smaller book to a larger one, so I basically just gave away over 1000€. Not in a position to do that again...)Physical backers will also receive a small bonus... there is a city map in the adventure that has a lot more detail than is readily visible on the page size we used for the book. All the essential information to use the book is visible, yes, but some of the finer details got lost. Backers will receive the map as a separate A3 size sheet with their book.
...aaannnddd checking in:
Art continues to come in from Brockie.
We're waaayy late on this, but the book inches closer to completion and we will get it to you. I can only apologize that it's taken so long (and for the length between updates - checking in to say "nothing to report" seems a waste of time, so I update when there is something to show or say), and hope that when you do hold it in your hands, you'll find the the wild and cool enough to have been worth the wait.
If you went in for one of the options that got you the other adventures from this campaign series, Kelvin Green's Forgive Us is at the printer now. If your address has changed, we need to know in the next couple of weeks.
Quick update on all the Adventures Campaign stuff:
Seclusium and Adventure #10 (the 64 page bonus) are out the door and delivered.
Broodmother has the base layout done and is now in the art phase. It will be a 96 page book.
Horror Among Thieves is now called Forgive Us and will include 2 bonus mini-adventures in the book. Kelvin Green says: "Horror Among Thieves is now called Forgive Us. The text of the main adventure and one of the bonus adventures is done; the second bonus adventure will be getting a polish this weekend. There are three bits of art to do and I hope to have at least two of those done this weekend too. Then it's complete, aside from layout." Since writing that a few days ago, he reports that the text of the second adventure is done.
Rob Conley has turned in 10000 words of his English Civil War Sandbox adventure, so that's progressing as well.
Brockie has turned in a 10k word version of Towers Two, but has been filling it out slowly so as to make it a fleshed-out adventure and not barebones.
So everything is progressing, but unfortunately, slower than we'd like. I realize we're closing in on a year since they were supposed to be delivered, but I'm actually more confident now, at this moment, that they'll all happen and be damn cool and worth the wait, than at any time since they first funded. All I can do is apologize about the tardiness.
Update from Brockie:
"Hey you guys, here is a link to a full list of shows on our fall tour. Anyone who contributed to Towers Two (and is still waiting for me to finish it), and is planning on coming to see GWAR this fall, PLEASE hit me up at email@example.com and I will hook you up with a couple of free tickets. It's the least I can do for being over a half a year late on this thing. If you don't see your town on the list don't despair, we will be adding plenty more shows over the course of the next year.http://www.metalblade.com/us/news/gwar-announces-gigantic-fall-tour/ "
(publisher's note: I assume, as in the past, the offer does not apply to the festival dates marked with *)
Seclusium is in!
Those of you who pledged at the Collector's Pack or Faithful levels should have a PDF coupon code for that book. Check the email you used to sign up here, check the spam folder, if you still don't see it let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Broodmother, Horror Among Thieves, and Towers Two are still in various stages of production... sorry again for these delays.
