Who is Warrior?
The Warrior Fund is dedicated to a very brave horse who, because of his abuse and injuries, brought about the attention of local authorities enabling the rescue of three other horses owned by the same woman.
Warrior did not die in vain. His memory and the memory of other rescue horses at the ranch continue to be the driving force to continue to save the lives of abused horses that are still in need.
The Warrior Fund has been established in an effort to fund the emergency care of rescue horses in desperate, immediate need once they arrive at the ranch. The funds raised here will be set aside for these purposes.
The emergency care for the rescue of one (1) horse typically costs an average of $300.00. (This is the total vetting cost; blood work, teeth, farrier, Coggins test, vaccines). Depending on the severity of the case, this amount is much more.
The daily feeding cost is about $9.00; $270.00 a month. Some horses can stay at the ranch for 6 months, or more, before he or she is well enough to be adopted to a "forever" home.
