ATTENTION! WE HAVE MET OUR GOAL, BUT IT'S NOT OVER YET!

Thank you to all our donors! You have given us this opportunity, and now it’s up to us to take the ball and run with it. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and consideration. It is truly appreciated and we will be sure to make you proud.

That being said, more funds would allow us to expand our options and give us more freedom in making the best film possible. We already have some amazing ideas in mind that a bigger budget would allow us to turn into a reality. So please help us bring our vision to life.

Yours sincerely,

Toby Wosskow

My Story

My name is Toby Wosskow and I'm the Director/Producer of The Sum of Loss. I'm an award winning filmmaker studying Film Production at Chapman University in Orange, California.

Over a year ago I came across The Sum of Loss, the most emotionally moving screenplay I have ever read. I fell in love with it and immediately asked the writer, Barry Katz, if I could produce it. To my disappointment, he informed me that another filmmaker had already optioned the script. Despite this setback, I kept in touch with Barry and worked with him on another project. In November 2011, he contacted me to let me know that the filmmaker was never able to bring The Sum of Loss to fruition and that it was back on the market. I knew it was destiny and within an hour I had agreed to make the movie.

The film follows a distraught father who undergoes two life-changing events at once. It is dramatic, deep, and will make you question the presence of fate in your own life. To put it short, this is the most beautiful script I have ever read and I KNOW it is going to be an incredible movie that will succeed in film festivals around the country. I have had several successes before, but this is the film I believe will take my career to another level.

The film will be co-produced by Nate Ruff, and the rest of the production team will consist of other fellow Chapman University film students. Actors will be recruited from the many talent agencies in Los Angeles. Production will begin in the Los Angeles area late January 2012 and the final product will be available in April 2012.

What We Need

Our minimum budget for the film is $7,000 and all donations will be put directly into the film. Any extra money we receive will be used to increase the production quality. Let's be honest...a bigger budget makes for a better movie. So, please help us make the best film possible.
