Wow!! 3 days left and more than 20% there. I read somewhere that 84% of projects that reach 20% of their goal reach their final funding goal. So I'm excited to get this thing really rolling! Check out the updates page for some new video content (man, I never realized how ridiculous my guitar face is!!), and an unmixed track from the new record... Go team go!!

Hi There Lovely People, Thanks For Reading...

   My name is Nick Bullock. I'm a guitar player, singer and song writer. I decided a long time a go that I'm a lifer for this music that I play. It is a need, a beautiful need, and I love being the conduit. I'm excited to share this new record with you! 

   As a kid, I used to hear my mom say "there are so many sleeping people in the world". It's taken me 32 years and a bit of baggage to fully understand what she meant. And when I did, I had to write about it, and in so doing, exercise my own sleeping self. And it's my hope and belief that this record can do the same for you. I fully believe that the more honest people are with themselves, the better the world is. I wrote and recorded this record to help myself "wake up", and expose my underbelly. My demons only stay there when I let them, and I was tired of letting them slumber deep down. This record is a representation of that inner battle. I believe in it enough to believe that it can help other people "wake up" too. 

   This past summer, me and the band traveled down to West Virginia to record our first full length record. We had so much fun recording, and worked our butts off to make the best record we could. My first goal was to make an absolutely honest record. Every lyric, every guitar squeal, every note sung had to come from that place that we all feel a little scared to explore most of the time (well, I do at least). It wasn't always fun, but when each take and each song got there, it was well worth it! 

   When it was all said and done, we created the best record I've made to date!

   The bad news was that I spent every dime I had on the tracking process, which I'm sure a lot of you know... record making doesn't end there!! 

   Your contribution will help see this record blossom. My vision for this record is to help people wake up, feel, dance, scream, get angry, shout with joy, dig deep and love. And with your contribution, you and I can see that vision through. 

What We Need & What You Get

I'm asking for $5,000, but in reality, I need around $10,000 to go the distance with all the cool ideas I have in my head... but first, here is a simple break down for where all the money is going. Hopefully this reveals the "man behind the curtains" a bit for you, and helps you understand the process of making records.

Mixing: $3,000

Mixing is arguably the last step in the creative process. It's where the song really comes to life, and you start to see the flower blossom. My good friend, and mix master/engineer Matt Saccuccimorano will be mixing the record for us. He's awesome!

Mastering: $500

Mastering is where they take the mix, and basically give it the final "wax". It gets it ready to play on your turn tables, cd players etc.

Duplication: $1,500

I'm super excited to be printing this record on Vinyl, and as any proper audiophile will tell you, there is no other way. But don't worry cd lovers, you'll have a proper compact disc to throw into your car's trusty old 5 cd changer for your cruising pleasure! 

The Leftovers: 

All money given over the goal amount will go directly towards paying the artists for the album artwork (including the record art work, as well as a limited edition, record inspired poster), music videos, promotion and marketing for the record. 

The Perks:

Along with all the perks listed on the side, as a contributor you will get a bunch of exclusive bonuses like a first look at the album artwork, unreleased B-sides from the record, and acoustic versions of tunes from the record. You will also be able to vote for your choice of which songs to make videos for (i'm really excited to include you in on that!). And I'm sure I'll keep thinking of new cool things to throw in the "perks" bin.
