We are the Show Ponies, an indie folk quintet from Los Angeles with bluegrass and old tyme tendencies, and we're raising money for our next album.  Check out the gallery tab to hear what we sound like!

Two years ago we successfully raised enough money (through indiegogo and other avenues) to record our debut album, Here We Are!  Since then, we've been in the process of writing and arranging new songs, and we're finally ready to record and release our next album.  While this is our second album, it's the first album that will be recorded with all five members.  We've spent months performing many of these songs and are ready and excited to finally record them in June of this year.  Money, as always, stands in our way.  We need your help!

In Summary, we need $16,500 to write, record, mix, master, press and release our second record.  That number might surprise you.  To be honest, it surprises us a little bit too.  We raised significantly less than that for our first album and ran into some unpleasant snags as a result.  This delayed the release of the album and left us with quite a bit of debt (which is now paid off thanks to record sales).  This time around, we've put a lot of time into carefully constructing our budget.  We feel that this number will help us reach our goal of putting this album into your hands in a timely manner.  Here's the budget breakdown:

We realize that most of you are probably a lot like us: kind of poor.  We don't take your contributions lightly!  Check below and on the right side of your screen to see what sort of perks we're offering to our generous contributors!  Feel free to email theshowponiesband@gmail.com with any specific questions you have about how we'll be spending your money.

Any contribution over the amount of $5 will come with optional "perks."  These are small (and sometimes big) gifts we're giving to contributors as a token of our deep appreciation for what you're doing for us.  The bigger your contribution, the cooler the perks!  Check out the options below for more details.

We do this because we love making music for people to enjoy.  We write music to tell a story about the world and our small place in it and we'd like to share the product of that process with you.

We'd be honored by any contribution that will help us accomplish our goal, but if you find yourself, like us, at the short end of the financial stick, there are other ways you can help!
