Just a quick update from the team at Orobis. We have spent the last month deep in the heart of electronic device manufacturing heaven, visiting factories left and right, building our custom molds, ensuring that every piece of plastic, every wire, every color, chip, and angle is made exactly the right way. We thank you for your patience as working with the factories in China on our initial production run has been a more challenging and complicated process than could have been anticipated.
Please fill out the following form to confirm which color Orobis Transform cable you would like - if you were an early backer (before Feb. 14) you'll be getting an extra Orobis Transform Cable in the mail!
We're very very sorry for lack of updates & communications. The special mould for the microUSB connector includes male & female connector had been biult ready for over one month.
At the beginning we thought that we could start to produce Orobis Transform very soon after we get the connector, and we set the production schedule in July. But after we got the special connector, we found that some tiny structure designs for plastic parts had to be improved. We hope that the product can be used with good feeling, not only provide a cable with a special mechanical design.
Sometimes the tiny revisions spend much more time than our expectation. Each revision effects other places, so we have to make mockups for several times before starting plastic mould.
Now it's close to final, we'll start to build plastic mould in next week. So, the pilot run should be done in early August. After the pilot run, we'll do the first production very soon. And we'll send out the perks from the first production.
Still feel very sorry to you all for late production. And many thanks for your caring and help. We can never go so far like this without your help!
All the Best,
The Orobis Transform Team
In the last five hours of our campaign, we just wanted to take a moment to express again our gratitude for the love, support, and help you have offered us.
We came to this platform all the way from Taiwan with two possible successful outcomes:
1) To raise $25,000 and be able to build the mold we need to build our cable
2) To get enough exposure for the Orobis Transform that a new strategic partner would gain enough interest to help us carry it forward into production.
Although we haven’t met our funding goals, we still consider this campaign a massive success as it has given us the exposure we needed to meet a new strategic partner, and bring the Orobis into production.
As such, we consider our IndieGoGo campaign to be a huge success, and none of it would have been possible at all without you.
We’re a little dazed, stunned, and overwhelmed that this dream of ours will now become a reality, and we cannot wait to get the Orobis Transform into your hands in May.
We hope that you will love it as much as we do.
And so a final thank you, and if you would like to share the campaign with your Apple friends in its last hours, please feel free to do so by sending them the link to http://indiegogo.com/orobis-transform/
Warm regards, and high fives all around!
CEO & Head Designer
Hi there to all of our supporters!
We’re thrilled to be able to announce two miracles that have happened for us in the past week. Thanks to a recent report by c|net, we raised over $2,500 in just two days, and were introduced to a new strategic partner, blowing our goal of $25,000 out of the water. Thanks to our new partner (who wishes to remain anonymous), and the $6,000 we have been able to raise successfully on IndieGoGo, we have the absolute bare minimum amount of capital we need to produce the mold for the Orobis Transform.
Our last task at the moment is to raise some additional money to help facilitate our first production run. Everything we raise from here on out will help us take our design into production more quickly, more efficiently, and help us to deliver your Orobis Cables to you hopefully ahead of schedule.
We cannot express our thanks enough to you for all of the support and love you’ve given us so far, and we need your help to take us through the home stretch now more than ever. Because we live in Taipei, we’re not the best in the world at promoting our product, and so any help you can give us sharing our wonderful news with the world is immensely appreciated. Please take a moment to share our campaign with your friends who use iPhone 5 and the iPad mini – every dollar we raise from now until the end of our campaign will be put directly into making the Orobis better, stronger, and faster.

We are so happy to be introduced by CNET. Thank you Amanda, and thank you for all of your supports!
Again, it’s our solemn promise to all of our supporters. We will never give up on completing this cable, we’ll deliver the Orobis Transform cables to all of our supporters on IndieGoGo when we are able to successfully build the mold we need to put it into production regardless of whether or not our campaign is funded in full.
Please share our campaign info thru FB, Twitter to more people for supporting us to pull through the home stretch. Every dollar we get makes it that much easier for us to push the cable into production!
Let’s realize the crazy idea for the half-open microUSB together!
