Machined from aircraft grade aluminium to match the body of your MacBook, the Nifty MiniDrive is designed to fit snugly inside your Mac's SD slot. Who we are
The Nifty MiniDrive was conceived with one thing in mind: pairing the need for extra storage in the MacBook with a design aesthetic worthy of Apple products. We are just two friends who wanted to create something practical that looks damn good.
Please join us on this journey! You will be helping a young company get on its feet for which you cannot underestimate our appreciation. But more importantly you will be part of bringing something useful and beautiful to the world.

What we need
Our project goal is US$20,000 and is the bare minimum we need to really get this idea off the ground. Your funding will go towards helping us reach the following important milestones:
- Sourcing and testing the raw materials
- Making the first, fully operational prototypes. This will include money for:
- CNC’d aluminum backs
- Double layer PCB’s
- Acrylic/Nylon Molded fronts
- Placing an order of sufficient volume to scale manufacturing costs
- Packaging and Shipping

Why is it so expensive?
We wanted to make the MiniDrive look and feel as high-quality, and as well put together as the MacBook. That meant only one material would do - aircraft grade aluminium. Each MiniDrive is individually machined out of a block of this aluminium using a precision engineering process which gives a high-quality, durable and unique final product. Unfortunately, at low volumes, this is (really) expensive!!
Finally, the MiniDrive is then assembled by hand before being tested and shipped. In these early stages we want to make absolutely sure the quality and finish is to a standard you would be proud to own.
