The Mind Job

A short film comedy about love, lust and looking in the wrong direction.

PLEASE NOTE: although we've reached our IndieGoGo target we're still trying to raise considerably more to cover the production costs. Please keep the contributions coming. Massive thanks to everyone who has contributed so far...

About the project

The Mind Job is a twisted romantic comedy which takes the audience on a one-way journey into the male brain. It looks at what could happen if our innermost thoughts were somehow exposed to our lovers.
The Mind Job is a story of love, lust and looking in the wrong direction.

The story centres around the awkward Zac and his girlfriend Izzy, who witness the botched mugging of a young woman. As witnesses, they agree to undergo a new police procedure to have their memories retrieved in order to identify the offender. Unfortunately, when they try to locate Zac's memories of the young woman's attack, they can't be found... Eventually after some help from the IT department the doctor and Izzy locate the missing memories in a completely different part of his brain... and make a disturbing discovery.

We've just found out the script has been nominated for an Australian Writers' Guild award (the Monte Miller Prize) for best unproduced short film script. Across the board, the script's been getting a great response from everyone who's come in contact with it. Its a very unique idea and seems to really resonate with people. In fact its subject matter exposes a male trait so closely guarded, Ive been warned the Guild of Men may be revoking my membership!

Weve been extremely fortunate in gathering together a truly amazing team, from the stellar cast through to cinematographers, producers, production designers, editors, casting directors, composers and sound designers.

The one area we do need a little support with is the final stage of funding. Producing independent films, even short films is an expensive undertaking. We have already raised most of the funds ourselves, but were still short of our target. Your contribution will help with equipment hire, location fees, props and wardrobe.

Not only that, but by contributing you're becoming part of the team! Your contribution will help to turn this crazy idea into a film and your name will be all over it (figuratively and maybe even literally). We cant do it without you, so come on board and be part of something awesome.

If you dont think you can contribute directly, please consider sending this on to any people whose curiousity this might just tickle. Feel free to send any questions to jjwinlove@gmail.com

A huge thank you from all of us.
