Hello and thanks for stopping by! You have reached the fundraising page for The Legend of Boudicca graphic novel written by Joey Ellison, lettered by Paul Mclaren and illustrated by Monty Borror. The book is going to be 120 pages black and white greyscaled told in six chapters. No publisher announcements just yet but we will update you as the proccess continues.
Boudicca is a historical figure from Iceni which included parts of England and Wales. She lead a bloody rebellion against Rome in AD 60 or 61. Her story is not often told in the United States although it is inspiring to all who stumble upon it.
Making Boudicca's story accessible to to a wide audience is the goal of this campaign.
Where it goes
Funding raised will go to the printing of our book in both seperate chapters and as a full graphic novel. These will be used to send as perks of course but also to get printed books in front of publishers more than likely to be shopped at San Diego Comic Con. Any extra funding will partially go to the creators because after all of the work we deserve to buy ourselves a beer or two. But we will also use some for animated shorts and promotion. If our goal is not met, any monies made go directly to printing.
One of the most important perks in this fundraiser is a chance to own original artwork from the graphic novel at a very reasonable price. A real reminder that one can actually hang on their wall.
Telling the story of Boudicca to a wide mainstream audience is not without it's challenges. Just writing and drawing a 120 page script is challenging enough. Our main goal is telling as wide of a scope as possible. To include the excitement of medievel battles aligned with the great loss responsible for the uprising of the Iceni people. It is our goal to show these events lead by a woman whose strength the world had not yet seen.
It costs nothing to share.
Ain't got the dollar to spare? No problemo. If you would still like to see the project get made share the link! That little bit of help keeps our depression at bay.
