The Immortals at the Southern Point of Europe

Synopsis

On a small island at the edge of Europe, seven Russian scientists have formed a peculiar commune: An Esoteric School that explores the steps for the evolution of Humanity to the next level. When they reveal their plans to the local community and the Church, things get out of control...

What is it about?

This is the real story of a group of Russian scientists who settled on a small island in the middle of nowhere, at the southern point of Greece, fifteen years ago.

All of them are highly qualified scientists including a nuclear physicist who was exposed to a lethal dose of radiation in Chernobyl but survived and a mechanical engineer that worked in the Russian Space Center (the Russian NASA).

Despite their education, they keep a low profile as selfless skilled laborers who work for very little money or for free and they are very respected by the whole community of the island. They build houses, including their own, do carpentry, work in agriculture, fix cars and electrical appliances, restore churches and paint frescos in them and like good Christians they are among the very few inhabitants who don’t miss church on Sunday.

Fifteen years after their arrival, they make their role on the island more public: their philosophical quest regarding "the need to reconstruct this world” and “the birth of a new immortal Human" triggers huge reactions from the Church and the local community, especially when they decide to build an ancient Greek temple and revive the ancient Greek Mysteries.

Defying many laws they proceed with the construction of the temple and things get out of control.

The film follows their work and their relation with the local community that becomes turbulent, leading to their possible deportation from the country. It is also a rare insight into an Esoteric school that carries on the tradition of the Pythagorean philosophy.

Why campaign?

Up to now this independent production has been self financed but that is no longer possible. in order to complete the project we need $23000. We believe this is a very captivating, informative and highly original story worth telling and we are asking for your support.

Several TV stations and international distributors, as well as Film Festivals have already expressed their interest in acquiring the film but they want to see it completed first. You can help us complete it.
