WHO WE ARE
The Forge is home to a large group of artists from all backgrounds and mediums: cinematographers, photographers, producers, directors, musicians, illustrators, dancers, inventors, writers, performers, editors, designers, and more.
We are surrounded by friends and artists who need space like ours on a regular basis. Our studios and lofts are available for rent as a means to supplement building and operation costs. Whether it be for photo or video shoots, meetings or workshops, our space is in demand every day. Any income that the studio makes goes directly back into studio costs and improvements.
We create to live and live to create. We are trying to strengthen, build, and expand our team and community, and the Forge is our clubhouse.
WHAT WE NEED
It is time to take the Forge to the next level. Our colleagues, friends and associates want the same thing we do: a place to produce work. The better our amenities are, the more efficiently we operate and freely we produce. With your help, we will acquire the necessary means to function as a multi-media production house - concrete and virtual, where creatives make, study, share, experiment, network, and evolve.
Our ability to function and facilitate quality productions in-house are limited by a lack of basic resources a studio should have: professional light and sound gear, proper storage to organize our set walls, props and costumes; we need a PA system so we can host more performances and art events; sound control so we can record audio for video shoots and recording sessions; and an interactive website that can host all of the content produced at the Forge.
Here's a detailed breakdown of what we need:
$30,000 studio build out: sliding partition, mixing room, office, prop room, storage, deck, lighting grid, doors, windows, sound proofing, carpet, insulation/padding, bass traps, curtains, hardwood flooring, trim, lumber, hardware, stall dividers, mirrors, bathroom vent, towel dispensers, bins, makeup station, church pews, awnings, garage door opener, back perimeter fence, back ally gate, trellis, front perimeter fence, side barn doors, front ally gate, service ramp to side walk, security gate for driveway…
$23,000 studio gear: computer, camera, mixer, speakers, monitors, stereo, mics, headphones, cables, plugins, adapters, hot lights, strobes, stands, rollers, sand, dolly, jib…
$7,000 new website: design, development, programming and up-keep.
Donations that come to us through paypal actually transfer immediately. This allows us to actively work and progress as we are raising funds. Contributors will see the fruits of their generosity as we document our progress each step of the way.
WHAT YOU GET
From your donations, a community of artists will thrive. Countless hours will be recorded, thousands of photos and videos will be created, sets will be built, and many visions will be brought to fruition. We will also be putting out monthly performances, weekly productions, and daily projects. In exchange for your donations, aside from greatly impacting the evolution of a community of artists, contributors will be receiving studio time and art. Contributing to our campaign is a way to support art in a very direct way, by allowing artists to assemble in a functional space where new works can be conceived and produced on a daily basis.
The studio is on its way to completion and with your help we will be up and running in 60 days. Be a part of our project and expand WITH us! As our space develops and grows, our entire community develops and grows; and one of the most effective ways to help is by simply spreading the word about the Forge. Comment, connect, link, and share.
We are also open to other types of donations. Send us your ideas! If you or someone you know would be interested in donating any gear, equipment, materials or studio supplies, please send us an email at info(at)forgela.com.
Thanks for your support! We can't do it without you.
