The Editors issue 01 Pre-Order

Pre-order the first issue of our new comic title, and nab yourself some awesome goodies too.

#### UPDATE ####

We currently have 12 days to go until the pre-order closes, so on the 5th August we'll be sending the final pages of The Editors off to Ka-Blam to have the books printed up.

All contributors will get their eBook version of The Editors #1 no later that 10th August, and we hope to be sending out physical copies and bundles no later than mid September.

So far we've had a great deal of support and press from readers and comic news sites around the world and we really appreciate it.

We'll still be ordering the comics regardless of how much we raise on the pre-orders but every pre-order/donation/share does help.

In return for you guys being so supportive of our project we're going to hold a small contest for the last 12 days of the pre-order.

FOUR people will receive a free eBook version of The Editors issue #1 - no need to pre-order, or donate. The winners of these copies of the comic, will be the first FOUR people to reblog our tumblr post which goes up today (see our tumblr blog here: ( http://t-iii.tumblr.com/ ), retweet our post on twitter that will go up today marked with #TheEditors ( http://twitter.com/t_iii ), or share our Editors promo posts on facebook ( http://www.facebook.com/aKe.FERA )

We'll also give away ONE free print issue of The Editors to the first person who manages to get a famous comic creator/fan to plug The Editors on their twitter or tumblr account. Please don't make a nuisance of yourself or upset anyone, just ask politely and see if they will. When we say famous we mean actors, comedians, authors, or even artists/writers working for Marvel or DC etc. with verified twitter accounts. If they do, please send a link to their post and account to: press@angelk.at and if possible to your posts that convinced them to.

b) RANDOM CHANCE AT EXTRA LOOT FOR FUNDERS

If we manage to get more than $100 in funding/pre-orders, we'll choose a funder at random to receive an extra item - this item will be the framed newspaper front page of that person as either a hero or villain in their moment of victory or defeat (winners choice). This is normally reserved for funders of the $150 "Headliner" bundle, and this one won't count toward the availability restriction on that bundle.

Even if someone orders the "Headliner" bundle or "Editor in Chief" bundles, there will only ever be THREE of these ever made at most, and each of them will be unique to the individual that purchases and/or wins them.

 

 

What is The Editors?

The Editors is an ongoing comic book series from artist Davy Shirley (the webcomic Fera) and writer Paul Burr. The Editors are a clandestine group who are controlling the lives of the world's various heroes and villains, until a two bit crook wakes up during one of their procedures.

Follow his adventures as he attempts to unravel the mystery that lies at the heart of The Editors and at the same time stop himself from becoming just another cape.

 

Who?

The Editors is a new project from angelKat Entertainment - with the creator of the popular LGBT romance/adventure webcomic "Fera", Davy Shirley, and the talented writer of dark fiction, Paul Burr.

With the success of Fera, and with a new writing team working on various new projects at angelKat Entertainment, between us we have experience of producing both print and digital comics since 2009, as well as having writing experience both in fiction, and in articles for national magazines.

angelKat Entertainment and all of our creators are based in the United Kingdom.

 

What are you funding?

Any money raised from these pre-orders, will go towards the first print run of issue #1 of The Editors. Issue #1 will be a 24 page long, full colour, comic book, professionally printed by Ka-Blam in the USA. This will partially fund the print run, and the rest will be coming out of our pockets. We will be printing enough books to cover all pre-orders and stock for conventions/online sales. We hope to have the first books in our hands by July 2012 (and hopefully available at London Film and Comic Con).

If we manage to surpass the goal on IndieGoGo, we'll also be using the extra funding to promote the new comic to national/international press, at events, and possibly for printing of future titles - such as the already scripted sequel, a short story compilation, and the new instalment of Fera (issue #3).

NOTE FOR FUNDERS OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED KINGDOM: Please add $5 to your order on top of the minimum for the bundle that you wish to receive (at least). This is to allow for postage and packaging. Thank you.

 

What do you get?

The main purpose of this IndieGoGo campaign is a pre-order for our new comic, but to show our appreciation for your interest, and because services like IndieGoGo make it simpler to make a reality... We are including extra perks, bundle deals if you will, depending on how much you wish to spend. You can get anything from a PDF for your favourite eReader, to a whole host of extras including cameos, commissioned artwork, limited edition comics, and even your very own super hero story.

For every bundle/perk tier that you go up, you include every item from the lower tiers. Take a look at the list on the right hand side for more details and choose what bundle you feel is right for you. And it's completely up to you how much you pay - it can be anything so long as it's above the minimum for your chosen bundle.

 

Other ways you can help?

Not everyone is able to contribute, and that's perfectly okay. But what if you still want to help this project? Well, there are a few ways;

  • Tell others about The Editors - share the link to this campaign on your blog, website, facebook, google+, twitter, tumblr - anywhere you can. Email your favourite comic news site about how excited you are about this new comic.
  • Use the IndieGoGo share tools - they're at the top of this section, and they make sharing this project with others so easy.

And for those who can't contribute financially, we will be holding "contests" periodically - giving away PDF's and copies of The Editors issue #1 to those who share the link and help to promote the campaign. These will generally be in the form of "first 3 people to retweet/share" or randomly selected from those who have shared posts regarding The Editors pre-order.

Can we help even after the book is in print?

Yes, you can, and we'd welcome it greatly. Once printed, the comics will be distributed to comic shops via IndyPlanet (a part of of printers Ka-Blam). It would be great if you guys could encourage your local comic shop to order The Editors issue #1 and help us reach a new audience in your home town.
