Thanks so much to the three folks who contributed to my campaign. Although the amounts may seem "small," they will be used to help pay for film festival entry fees. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
Laetitia Sonami (the ear goes to the sound) is an in-progress feature-length documentary that profiles the French-born, Bay Area-based artist Laetitia Sonami, who is a distinguished figure in the field of electronic sound art. She is best known for her invention of the Ladys Glove, a device that is wired with pressure and motion sensors that allows her to control sounds, mechanical devices, and lights in real-time with gestures of her hand.
Why It's Important
To my knowledge, no films have been made that exclusively concern women working with electronic sound. The purpose of this film is to introduce Sonamis innovative work to a wider audience, and to increase awareness of women in her field.
