THIS IS A WORLD-SAVING PROJECT

As climate change devastates our world, climate skepticism continues to rise...  With the failure of our mainstream news media, the job of frank and accurate climate reporting falls upon the independent community.  While educational awareness drives public demand for change, the extent to that demand will depend on our methods for attracting the widest demographic possible.  For the level of money invested - film is by far our most effective means to motivate our masses, and clear away our crippling uncertainties.  With the help of top experts in climate science and sustainability solutions, we will convey our most important discoveries with captivating visuals and a special narrative twist - strategically designed to maximize engagement!

I am excited to announce that Anjali Appadurai - whose powerful speech at COP17 inspired the globe - has agreed to join our team as the film's Female Presenter!  If you haven't seen it yet, watch her historic speech right HERE!

My Story

To discover what is at stake regarding climate change education in mass media, please watch - 'Science Vs. Denial: The Truth About Climate Education' - my zero-budget film in response to misleading studies which have persuaded many top television networks to abandon their climate education efforts.  It represents a chapter of Return Project - my ambitious film project devoted to all aspects of climate education through film using the most effective cinematic tools available.  With the endorsements of leading climate scientists and media experts, I have called upon the movement to defy the status quo and support a top film production for philanthropic distribution.

Here is my new Q&A article 'Cinematic Sins' on AboveLive.com - "For a Sustainable Earth"

Our Project

Our new project is an independant feature film production on climate for an international audience to be filmed in my home city of Tokyo Japan.  Through a dynamic high-concept narrative carefully designed to maximize the appeal of the educational information presented, our plan is to create a visually stunning documentary with a sensational twist that will trigger an eye-opening experience.  But above all, for the sake of our planet, the film will be made freely viewable online for everyone!  I strongly believe that due to the dire nature of our crisis, all climate change media should be free!

Onboard this project, we have a vastly talented Photographer / Cinematographer who is known in Tokyo for his fashion photography with A-list celebs such as J-Lo and Beyonce.  He comes ready with top of the range film equipment and studio connection.  The script which is nearing completion is open to writer collaboration as I seek qualified insight and factual verification from leading experts.  The visual work has begun.  Using the most stunning footage from NASA which is public domain, with AE templates for the highest quality graphics, the framework is in place for a visual spectacle.

The Impact

As a unique psychological twist, our film will glimpse into a fictional world that has triumphed in the face of climate change.  The film is in part a special TV News program from an alternate timeline seperated by a single fictional event - when our mainstream television media chose to prioritize climate change reporting in the year 2003.  As a reflective examination on a decade of societal progress, the program covers the events of an ideal global revolution for sustainability in food, energy and natural resources, while significantly explaining the key chapters in media education that kickstarted a powerful societal awakening.  This film is a hypothetical wish list for our global priorities brought to life - based on our latest scientific discoveries and solutions, to offer offer us with a visible 'blueprint' for our own desirable future.  Like marketing, it is a celebration of what we strive to attain, while offering contrasting reminder of our current indifference to climate issues made acceptable through our media silence.  It will deliver a healthy critical balance on the issues throughout like no other.  For a world crippled by economic hopelessness, let us offer a clear confident vision of how it can be done.  The title is simply THE BLUEPRINT.  For details on the film's strategic approach, please visit our script document THE BLUEPRINT

Through rapid desertification, glacier loss, flood damage and more, Billions in GDP is lost on top of our food shortage crisis, water shortage crisis, and population displacement.  And these costs to our environment, our economy, our health and our lives are all set to rise... time is running out and we are missing our last window of opportunity to educate our society, reverse the rising tide of climate skepticism, and truly begin looking out for the endangered - the future of our children.

To achieve the maximum results in climate change awareness, film is by far our most powerful tool to truly engage the general public and inspire a movement toward sustainability.  Beyond a sense of knowing that I did my part to correct our path, I simply cannot live in a world without a perceivable future.  If you feel anything like I do, please support our film.  I guarantee IMPACT!

How You Can Help

By contributing to our film, you will be contributing mainly to our production costs such as studio time for both film and audio recording, assignment of graphics and animation by talented artists, the procurement of grade-A stock footage, and a modest payment for the work of helpers.  The rest of the funds will help our day-to-day post-production requirements, and to submit the final to Film Festivals around the world.  Should there be any funds left over, I must take the opportunity to travel promote our film, and meet the contacts who can help us distribute as widely as possible.

Should we fail to meet our fundraising goal, the production will continue and the film will be made on a tighter budget with resources at hand.  But in the event that we do reach a goal of $30,000, please continue your contributions.  The amount of professional help we can afford will make a vast difference to the quality of our film (e.g. music / animation) as well to the time of completion.  You would also help us a great deal by simply sharing this page on your Facebook and Twitter!

All who contribute will receive exclusive link to newly completed film segments, a digital copy of the script, a personal thank you video from our team, and of course a link to download our free film in HD format before anyone else in 2013!  If you would also like to be involved in the production process, please send us your suggestions to our Facebook Page.  There you can provide us link to information we should present, or link to top quality images on any related subjects which may help to enrich our film.  Your input WILL have an impact.  Now together... let's IMPACT our world!

Sincerely yours,

(Kiyoshi) James Shikada
