In September of 2007, I married the girl of my dreams. Five months later, Jennifer was diagnosed with Stage IIIB Breast Cancer. Sadly, we discovered that most people are not aware of the reality of life with cancer and we often felt alone in cancer land. When Jennifer was re-diagnosed in April of 2010 with Stage IV breast cancer we realized that we could not face this alone: we needed people to better understand the challenges that we face every day - chronic pain from the side effects of 3-plus-years of treatment and medications, daily fears, anxiety, worries and exhaustion, to name just a few. We tried talking and when words came up short I turned to the only other way that I know to communicate, my camera. My photographs show this daily life.

Since publishing my photos on the web this past June, I have been contacted by people from all over the world telling me how my photos and our story inspire them. Many are women who are currently fighting breast cancer, women who share the same frustrations and difficulties of being left alone in their time of need; others tell me that through my photos, they better understand how they can help a loved one who is facing this horrible disease.

As of now, I have two shows scheduled for my documentary (see below for description). I am seeking support so that our story can be exhibited all over the world, spreading a message that needs to be heard, breast cancer is more than pink ribbons; it is a battle that should not be fought alone. In addition to contacting magazines, newspapers and websites, I plan on producing 40-50 exhibition prints. Support is needed to cover the costs of materials and services required to proof, print, and frame the work. Support is also requested for equipment required to assist in the production, storage and transmission of the work.
