Hello there, beautiful people! Before I tell you more there is never such thing as too little or too much support. $5, $10 or even $20 is major help, and adds up quickly. Whatever you can contribute to my art campaign I appreciate so very much.
Hi there, my name is Toby Kernan. I make art, and I could use your help.
First I guess I should tell you a little about who i am. I live in a small, conservative town in Northern Idaho. I have Adult ADD, and never really fit into my surrounding of hunting, fishing, and small-town mentality. Art was my outlet in my youth, but I put my love of it on the backburner as I grew into the adult world of marriages, kids, and an endless string of crappy, low-paying, dead end jobs to survive.
Then in 2010 I finally got myself a good job, one I could properly supported my family with. At the same time I rediscovered my love of art, experimenting with some painting and pulling out old sketch books, buying copies of Juxtapoz and Hi Fructose that inspired me to rediscover my forgotten love of art.
Then, in oct. 2011 we got the news. The mill I was working at was closing. My good job was gone, and I would be fighting, in a tough economy in a small town, with 250 other people out of a job.

But, from this trajedy, a light shined through.
I started painting and sketching full time. I purchased an art program and discovered the world of creating digital art.
Fast forward to now. My artistic career is creeping into the area of public notice. I have sold several painting, done some commission sketches, designed some advertisements, and even designed the logo for an African redio station, as well as the local fledgling women's roller derby team.

But the bills are also piling up. I need to increase my exposure, thereby allowing me to make more money.
This is where you, my wonderful patrons, come in.
I need your help.
Funding for this project will primarily be used to fund the following agendas:
*Advertising for my existing pages (you can see a list of them below) and of my work, both in online and offline media outlets. Being from a small town in Idaho, I have to fight tooth-and-nail to get myself noticed. While I have been aggresively leading an all-out social network blitz, money to push my agenda will certainly help.
*Purchasing of prints and merchandise. While I have my original pieces, I need to be able to pick up prints of my works to both sell for profit, and to give away as part of charitable auctions and events. I am a big proponent of aiding local charities and events, and the ability to donate prints and merchandise to charitable events helps both them (raising funds) and me (increasing my exposure within the community). Purchasing these prints also allows me to have the best product possible when attending art shows to display my work.
Also, with this, I can purchase merchandise such as keychians, stickers, and shirt, which I can distribute to people in contests and as part of special promotions to spread my name out there.
The girls of the Hell's Canyon Honeys Roller Derby Team. The shirts they are sporting were co-designed by me. I was the one taking the picture. The Honeys and I were working the Eagles Show & Shine 2012, an event where all the proceeds go to local charities.
BTW, this campaign, regardless of the outcome has already been filled with pleasant surprises, just in the first week. When one of my artistic heroes, Camilla d'Errico tweets me "I just went to your Indiegogo ;) Love your studio! You've got a great range. I really hope you make your goal!" I know I am moving in the right direction! ;D
Thank you for reading, and your consideration, and even if you can't support financially, you can always do me a very big solid by spreading this around the web on your social media websites, and by checking out my many other pages...
