When developing the Alto Wallet, we strove to create a no-compromise minimal wallet that looked amazing and could adapt to your life in today’s fast paced society.

With an assortment of vibrant colors and a selection of unique Alto designs, there are over a thousand different wallets possible.  But we didn’t want to stop there!  To be truly customizable we had to give the power to the people.  We are offering a limited reward level that allows you to express yourself to the world, and carry your most personal possessions in something truly unique to you.  With your help, we can streamline this process and offer it as an option to everyone in the future!

Since our wallets are made to look amazing, we needed to innovate a way to create this wallet without covering it up.  What’s the point of a customizable wallet if you can’t see it!

Keeps You Organized

The Alto Wallet provides several ways to keep your essentials safe and organized.  The main compartment was designed to be easily accessible and allow you to see everything in your wallet at a glance.  Efficiently select items from your wallet by manipulating your cards like you would folders in a filing cabinet.   

The inner compartment enables you to keep things separate from the main compartment.  The band is perfectly sized to tightly store one or multiple cards.  This makes it convenient to store your most used card(s), or your least used card(s).  This wallet gives you the freedom to use it how you want, and to change as often as you like.

The last compartment is on the outside of the wallet, which provides extremely easy access and storage.  Perfect for short term items like receipts, movie tickets, plane tickets, business cards, etc. The band is secure and will hold items in place wherever your wallet goes.

Behind the Design

Over a year and a half ago, we challenged ourselves to create the perfect longboard.  With little more than a bandsaw, contractor’s table saw, and some other basic power tools, we began this impossible journey.  Obsessively devoting ourselves, we created a longboard in our own vision and after several months this vision started to come into focus.  It took several more months until we achieved a design we were truly satisfied with.  This turned out to be an important lesson for us; the knowledge that anything is possible with enough hard work and perseverance.  Comparing our first longboards to the ones we create now, it’s obvious to see how far we’ve come.

Building by hand and starting from scratch meant we had complete control over the functionality and design of our longboards.  However, this also meant we would generate a considerable amount of waste.  As our longboards got better, so did our woodworking skills and soon we were able to find ways to put our scrap material to good use; creating unique cutting boards, trays, and coasters.  We inevitably began challenging more complex projects, like a wallet made from handcrafted wood and carbon fiber.

The feedback we received from our early prototypes was quite positive but also a bit of an eye opener.  Turns out lots of people disliked their wallets as much as we did.  Realizing we had an opportunity to make people lives better, we decided to ramp up prototyping and take this design challenge head on.

The Alto Wallet was created with a ridiculous amount of perseverance, attention to detail, and belief in ourselves to create a better wallet… in a world full of wallets.  We don’t take short cuts, we don’t sacrifice quality, and invariably this means we are always choosing to do things the hard way.  Based on all our past experiences, we have seen that challenging ourselves is often the best way to create something entirely new.
