Hello Supporters!

Our campaign is now officially over! We wanted to send out a huge thanks for the support! We’re working hard to get Tethercell(s) out to everyone as soon as possible. We will continue to keep you updated on our progress along the way.

Crowdfunding through Indiegogo has been an amazing experience for us. We couldn’t be more thankful for the support we’ve received from the Indiegogo team and are so impressed with the array of cool projects that are coming out on the site. Speaking of which, one of the cooler campaigns and videos we’ve seen (actually by one of our friends) is ending tonight. Activyst makes awesome women’s athletic bags and is just 9K away from their final stretch goal – a great gift for a girlfriend, wife, or mom. www.indiegogo.com/activyst

Thanks once again and we’ll be in touch!

Backers,

Mini update on our campaign… We’ve been notified that the Beck Worley “Upgrade Your Life” segment is slated to air on May 1st, not this coming week as we had expected. We’re extending the campaign 10 days to ensure that we are still have a live campaign when that segment airs as it has the potential to bring in a lot of revenue.

Tethercell Backers!

Quick weekly update here… This week we traveled again to The Bay Area to meet with a few journalists for some hands-on demos, including Becky Worley who is the tech contributor for Good Morning America. Tethercell will be featured in an upcoming broadcast next week, so we’ll definitely keep you posted on that.

With regard to the design updates, we had some mixed results with the new board design. The good news is that the board responded during “bring up,” meaning that it accepted the flashed firmware and was able to communicate over the BLE channels. Unfortunately, the power consumption was over budget. The problem was traced to an inductor in the boost convertor circuit portion that steps the voltage of the AAA up to 3V for the rail that supplies the power to the RFIC. A different inductor is on order, but we are plowing ahead with firmware development since the board is otherwise functional. Also, we verified that the new design maintains the 100ft open field line of sight range. Since one of the crystals was damaged during reflow soldering, we have not yet tested the chip antenna configuration.

We have one more major media trip scheduled to New York where we wil be meeting with some more high profile publications including Popular Science. It’s quite the juggling act for the three of us but we’re excited to do this and are greatful to all of you for your continued support.

Have a great rest of the week, we’ll update you next week, hopefully with better news about the power supply issue.
