Writing Songs, Righting Wrongs!
Thanks to Indiegogo for providing the opportunity with "flexible funding" to begin this campaign, which will receive the majority of the initial contributions. After December 19, 2013, the "Tell Me Do Music Video Fundraiser" will be moving to http://maryannvorasky.com. Our new website will launch in early 2014, so please bookmark http://maryannvorasky.com and stay in touch by checking in, or drop us a line and request to be added to the e-mailing list.
Music is a true love of mine and I am very happy to be sharing some of mine with you now in this project. I have been writing, singing and performing songs since high school, songs inspired by my life as well as by my work.
In addition to making music, I am a trained mediator and I work with a family law attorney helping people to become more aware of what they want in their lives, whether they are beginning their lives together, or ending their unhappiness when they find they cannot be together in ways that work. It may seem odd, but what this work has taught me is the true meaning of love. It's about how you feel inside yourself each day, what you create in the space you inhabit, what you want to make of your life in the time you have, and what you want to share with others, whether your children, family, friends, co-workers, or strangers you meet who could, after all, become friends, or family in time.
When you contemplate these questions, what do you come up with?
I came up with the idea to make a music video for my new song, "Tell Me Do."
When I played the song at a club recently, I felt something magical as I watched people in the audience responding to the music. Their enjoyment and pleasure inspired me to make this music video, and with your help, that is what we will do!
The music video will add elements of visual beauty, art and dance through the work of choreographer/art director Cati Jean and cinematographer Birgit Rudel.
I am dedicating the "Tell Me Do" music video to women and children who have survived domestic abuse, and to those who love them.
Introducing All-In-Love.Org, a new nonprofit organization founded to help survivors of domestic abuse move from survival to thriving in their lives.
Make the world a better place by connecting with others in caring ways that feel good!
We offer the following:
Cycling to Break the Cycle! - Bicycle safety and skills classes. Riding a bicycle gets your heart rate up and your endorphins flowing so you feel fantastic and can handle whatever life is sending your way.
EMDR/Therapy. "EMDR" stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and helps alleviate PTSD symptoms caused by experiencing trauma of any kind. Simple eye movements or body tapping helps you move through emotional blocks that cause anxiety. You will be amazed at what and how you can feel after just one or two sessions. Our therapists are highly qualified therapists and members of the EMDR International Association, dedicated to the highest standard in application of EMDR, as well as other forms of therapy if need if desired.
Music Lessons. Beginning music lessons on guitar and piano. Listening to music, learning how to read it, and making music with others helps us grow new neural pathways in our brains, and soothes and strengthens our nervous systems. Or you can learn to write, perform and record your own song in our Rock Star program!
These programs all have one thing in common: they help you feel good!
It's scientific fact that each of these activities causes your brain to produce endorphins which make you feel good, and when you feel good, you can thrive! You can fully experience the give and take of life unscripted, and everything you do can be done in love: the core of your world.
We also give concerts and educational presentations to help create more loving relationships and communities.
