Support Hiphopis4lovers.com

Hiphopis4lovers.com is a website and radio network discussing love , sex intimacy and hiphop.

Who we are

HipHopis4lovers.com is a website and budding radio network discussing sex, love, intimacy and hip hop. We currently host Hip Hop is 4 Lovers Radio (HH4L) and The XD Experience Radio on our network. Launched in 2009  by Uche Wogwugwu, a hip hop enthusiast and lover of love, Uche felt there was a misconception that hip hop and intimacy could not coexist.

“Ultimately, I started HH4L to have an honest conversation around sex and intimacy with others in the culture of Hip Hop,” she told Ebony.com in February 2012. “I believe that hip-hop’s voice on sex and intimacy is multifaceted and layered with music that speaks to many different experiences and those songs should be highlighted.”

After initially launching as a podcast, HH4L went to a live internet radio format in May 2011. Discussing topics like relationships, sexual health, and consent resonated with listeners who interacted via social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook with hosts Uche and Lenée Voss.  This further let us know that people wanted to hear these topics that are relevant to their lives and matched with the culture and music they listened to. In February 2012, we added The XD Experience Radio to the platform, expanding our voice and reach to include the LGBT community.

As we’ve grown, so have our opportunities. We've been able to share our message through a workshop, “Navigating and Negotiating Intimacy”  presented at the first-ever Sisterhood Summit. We've also been featured speakers in the “Women, Art and Culture” course at The College of Mount St. Vincent.

Our Campaign

We decided to start an indiegogo campaign to raise capital for us to grow as a network and website. We will be investing in new equipment, upgrading the technology that allows us to broadcast via the Internet and creating a more user friendly, content filled website. A large portion of these funds will also go into the creation of our brand merchandise to be sold on our website, which will create a source of income for us to continue growing as a network long after our indiegogo campaign is over.

We will also be expanding our workshops for teens and young adults to include more topics and more places where they will be made available

This campaign will help us create a self-sustaining brand. While the funds will help us with upgrades in our equipment and acquire more technological resources, the launch of brand merchandise will essentially, "keep the party going." The party, however, will be better and bigger with your help. We will be able to add more shows relevant our listeners and to the culture of hip hop and keep the same quality we are known for.

Contributing

Our perks will be specifically unique to HH4L and we promise you won’t be disappointed from the $5 perk all the way to the $1000 perk. We will have the best quality products so you will know your contribution was valued and appreciated.

Contributing to HH4L allows for us to be the network/brand we know we can be. It allows the voice of our culture to be heard and understood in more ways than thought possible.

We understand everyone can't contribute financially to our campaign and we love you the same. There are plenty of ways to support like sharing the link on your own social media networks, emails and even just telling people about Hiphopis4lovers.com. Every little bit counts.

We love you for listening and can’t wait to grow before your very eyes.
