The Accident
On August 11, 2012 Bailey Ann Spillane was in a terrible car accident that left her with serious injuries. The driver of the car fell asleep at the wheel, and of four passengers, Bailey suffered the worst of the injuries. The other three passengers walked away with very minor injuries. Bailey underwent a 14-hour surgery where doctors worked to reubild and replace her shattered vertebra. She also has a lacerated liver, punctured lungs, and cracked ribs. She is in ICU at LAUSC Medical Center for an unknown period of time, and will then be transferred to a hospital closer to home in Long Beach.
Bailey has always been an extremely active and social person. She has tons of friends who all hold her in high regard because of her incredible personality and behavior. Bailey is an all-around amazing person. She has had the love and support of many friends and family members who have spent countless hours at the hospital, and as soon as she is transferred from ICU, she will have hundreds of visitors.
Bailey is one of the most stubborn people on this planet, and when she is told "no," she doesn't give up; she fights until she wins and gets her way. Bailey is a fighter and will pull through this. Despite what doctors have said about her inability to ever walk again or regain feeling below the waist, nobody seems to believe Bailey will allow that. She will fight for her legs! She needs your help in this fight, so please do what you can to donate.
As a long-time friend of Bailey's, I am asking you to support her by donating in her honor.
We are looking to raise a minumum of $5000 in the next 50 days. The money is being raised to help Bailey and her family throughout her recovery.
If you cannot donate money, you can also help by donating blood, attending any fundraising events held by friends, family, and her employer, and keeping Bailey and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
Please spread the word to all, as any bit of help is appreciated.
