Siler City is a quiet little town in Chatham County North Carolina. As a native I am especially invested in the future of my hometown. Like everyone else who calls Chatham County home, I want to see our community grow and prosper. This rural area has an abundance of small farms producing vegetables and grass fed meats. When I was offered the opportunity to open a restaurant in the historic downtown of Siler City, I saw it not only as a chance for myself, but as a way to encourage the Local Economy Ideal. Our goal at Sussotashed is to bring the local foods into our cafe, hence supporting the area farmers, and keeping dollars in the community.
Through our fundraising campaign with Indiegogo we hope to raise $9,500. These monies will be used to purchase equipment to outfit our kitchen. The purchasing of major commercial appliances, such as a convection oven and energy efficeint refrigerators is our largest expense.
Succotahsed will be the first "Farm-to-Fork" operation in Siler City. This sustainable practice has worked well in many areas. As a chef I am so thrilled to be serving fresh, local, delicious food in the cafe! As a mother I am proud of the example being set for my daughter. As a member of this community I am excited for the things Succotashed can do for our small town!
We would like to ask all our friends, local farmers, and folks hungry for real food to make a contribution to this cause. We hope that people will realize what an investement this is to the future of our lives and our community.
Our most sincere thank you, we will be forever grateful.
