Update! Check out this video that Crystal & Max created yesterday: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoyyJZDB04k
What is our story about?
Stung follows the story of Mackenzie and Landon, two young boys caught up in the fervor of summer break. In a naive attempt to help his friend after he is stung by a bee, Mackenzie unknowingly threatens the innocence of their friendship by inciting a moment of unintentional intimacy. It's a story about the complexities of young male friendships, the confusing development of boundaries and ultimately about the ways that others categorize our intentions.
Why tell this story?
This is a story about the ways that people form ideas of normalcy. It explores the intricacies of competition and masculinity and hopefully encourages one to (re)consider their own thoughts on sexual stereotypes and gender roles. It is through moments of misunderstanding and confrontation that people come to discover what it is they believe in. Stung seeks to tell the story of one of these moments and to understand how and why individuals react the way they do.
Where does the money go?
We're a pretty inventive bunch and we'll work hard to cut costs wherever we can, but some things just cost a lot of money. We need to raise $2000 to cover approximately half of the expenses for the production of this film. Our entire crew will be working on an unpaid, volunteer basis and all of the money raised will go toward essentials such as transportation to the location (gas), camera and lighting equipment, insurance, and food for the cast and crew during our shoot.
But I don't have any money!
Maybe you have a vehicle you'd be able to lend us for day! Maybe you have a Pizza Hut coupon you're just dying to give away. Any help you're able to lend is probably eligible for a perk from the sidebar. Contact Spencer at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out how.
Much love for taking the time to read our campaign! We’re passionate about making this film, and your help and support could make it all the better!
