The students of my Museum & Library Exhibitions course have worked very hard to bring to light almost 200 artifacts from the stellar collections of the Watkinson Library, which holds the rare books and archives of Trinity College.
Thirteen students tell thirteen different stories, and their exhibitions range in focus from insane asylums to 19th-century American tourism; from Latino artists exploring their identity in bookish art to travel narratives of the Middle East; and from the paternalist efforts to "civilize" Native Americans to the often arcane art of literary translation.
We invite you to support (and attend!) our opening event on December 11th, from 4:30-6:30pm, in the Watkinson Library. There will be a catered reception, live music, and a full color catalog of the exhibition!
