Introduction

- Hello! My name is Dmitry Ghervas, I'm 32 years old, I live in Europe, in the Republic of Moldova. I am a gamedesigner. I invent games and bring them to life. But I do not have my studio yet. I think now it's time to realize my dream: I'm going to create a game studio, and the first game project would be "Strikes Toy Soldiers". It was for that game I want to collect the money.

About me read on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/ghervas.dt), MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/591676809 ) & Twitter (https://twitter.com/DmitryGhervas ).

I have already had experience in the sphere of business - during more than two years in an individual way I was taking photos including doing vignettes for schools and kindergartens. I worked alone, by myself and it was very difficult. At present I work as a gamedesigner in a game studio from Moldova. But I do not like working in that studio, so I do not want to talk about it, to not make unnecessary advertising. Some time ago I made up my mind to create my own studio and start making games that I have I dream.

I have in the plan a few original games that are not associated with the studio where I work. These games I am develop exclusively for me; one of them is "Strikes Toy Soldiers".

I even made a business-plan for a studio, but unfortunately the banks are too skeptical about the game industry; they believe it to be neither serious and nor profitable; banks prefer to deal with traditional forms of business.

Though I work gamedesigner, but on a specialty I screenwriter and director. Therefore, I can invent their own diverse games and stories of varying complexity, as well as directing the video scenes and in-game action. Experience in both 2D and 3D design gives me the opportunity to also work on models for games, interfaces, and cut-scenes. By the way, the video presentation for this page I have done myself.

But I'm not too versed in programming.

For a new game studio I need a few people who have helped me create a game "Strikes Toy Soldiers" within half a year and to complete it, from the alpha version to the finished game.

Fortunately, in early 2012, I have found the site IndieGoGo and realized what vast possibilities IndieGoGo opens for creative people. So I tried to make this project about the first game “Strikes Toy Soldiers” (for my future studio) and I hope that many people will like it and support it.

As soon as the required amount of money will be collected I will immediately register the indie game studio. I have already thought of the name for it, but it is still a secret. ;)

About the game "Strikes Toy Soldiers":

It all started when I painted how soldiers were fighting with each other. These paintings were inspired by action movies. I also loved to draw Walt Disney characters such as ducks, Donald and Scrooge Mackduck.

On the pages of paper-based notebooks, I arranged battles between two armies. At first they were like people, and then they began to look like characters from the Disney cartoon - I just really loved them. It was the army of various nations.

I liked to draw soldiers. It took much time. But I was not always able to sit down and draw. I still liked to play with toy soldiers. However, it was not interesting enough to play with soldiers holding one in each hand.

Soldiers were very expensive. But when I come to have a lot of them it occurred to me to transfer my hand-drawn battle of two armies on the floor of my room. And this was the birth of my strategy game!

Here is the description of it: At the beginning each player would choose soldiers for himself and would subdivide them in accordance with the epoch and nationality. Players facing each other used to stand at the distance of two-three meters from one another. They placed their soldiers on certain positions.

It was the most important point of the strategy, for victory depends to a great extent on the position of soldiers towards the opponent. I used to put the soldiers in the position of the acute angle to the opponent but not gathering them in a crowd.

Then one of the players took one or more light objects, such as pencils, pens, erasers and so on. Standing behind his army one of the players would throw any objects into the soldiers of another player, trying to knock down as many soldiers as possible. Then another player would take the fallen objects and would throw them into the soldiers of his opponent. So we played until one of us had knocked down all the enemy soldiers. He was considered to be the winner. The game could be called: turn-based strategy. But at that time I was not able to think of such notion.

Of course there was also a mode of real-time strategy, where both players threw projectiles at the same time, from which, in general the game quickly ended.
When I have grown up a little bit I made two different catapult for playing my strategic game. I was inspired by drawings from the books on the history of wars. The exterior of catapults was invented by me. Their purpose was to throw objects of different sizes and shapes. Their basis is made of wood, all the other elements from conventional steel wire. In the soldiers game catapults were used in the mode of cities siege. From the improvised means, I did something similar to the fortress in which I put the soldiers. Each player would use one of these two catapults.
My first catapult was based on the strength of cord tension, the principles of which were formulated by Archimedes. The second catapult worked on the basis of ordinary modern conventional rubber which is often torn. Archimedes' catapult, however, has never gone out of order! It's amazing! This once again proves that Archimedes was a truly great scientist of antiquity.
I set up catapults so that they could shoot close to somewhat, about two or three meters ahead; it is an adequate  appropriate distance for playing with toy soldiers.

It was a simple but at the same time, an amazing strategy game. I used to play it hours long, sometimes myself, sometimes with my cousin, sometimes with our friends. I enjoy very much remembering my childhood.
The time has flown, I have grown up, new interests and responsibilities appeared, but still when I come to my parents' place I take out my favorite soldiers out of the old bags, and again  arranged the big battles. I still play the soldiers, but of course much less than I did when I was a child. My childhood has passed, but it has not disappeared: it has turned into a good memory which is in no case be "thrown away".
So I have made up my mind "to move" my favorite game into the virtual space, to further complete and develop it. Thus, I can be sure that it will be available to all. All children and all adults will be able to play this strategy game using for it their own mobile phone, tablet PC, a computer or game console.

The virtual version of the game with toy soldiers, named "Strikes Toy Soldiers", is to be fully three-dimensional with multiple modes, including multiplayer online. Players will be able to put soldiers themselves, or to choose the ready position; the оbjects will be thrown by a virtual hand or by means of a toy catapult and cannons. The game can be played both against the computer in single player mode, and with friends in multiplayer. Several armies at once can also be engaged.
I'm not going to disclose all the details of the game now; let many secrets remain before the final release. I can only state that during the game it would be possible to evolve both toy soldiers and military equipment. Of course, the game will be the armies of the different historical periods. There will also be a single mode with its own special story about the boys of our times.

- Of course, I would like to have all the story scenes (for the single mode) filmed live, with young actors. It's also desirable that to in the game was the editor of the soldiers, who will allow the player to create unique warriors for his army. But this can only happen if the amount of money for this project on IndieGoGo will be exceeded.

The game "Strikes Toy Soldiers" is to be made on the engine "Unity-3D", which supports most of modern devices and operating systems. Namely, the game will run under operating systems Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, OS Android, Apple iOS, as well as on game consoles, Wii, PlayStation 3 and XBox 360. In the near future possibly game may support other operating systems and platforms.

Digital, virtual version of a strategic game with toy soldiers - that's my big dream, and I would like to make it was performed. Please, support me on this site indiegogo.com. Help me to realize my dream! And then I can give it to you as a gift.

- In the Republic of Moldova does not need millions of dollars to create a qualitative game. It is enough for me 43 000 dollars. With this amount I'll be able to open a new studio, to buy the necessary hardware and software, pay the rent, make a team of developers who have helped me and I can then start to fully work on a first project - "Strikes Toy Soldiers".

I remind that I already have a registered copyright on this game, both in the analog and digital version.
