I’m Mowgli and I’m a Vegas-based Street Artist. I recently won my first gallery show in a Facebook ‘Like’ Contest at the Amanda Harris Gallery of Contemporary Art, set to open on February 1st during the Gallery’s monthly First Friday event. To make the show great and memorable, I need your help.
The space has five walls of varying dimensions that I need to plaster with murals, portraits and other artworks. But as an emerging artist, I haven’t quit my day job, so time and money are not on my side. The prices for materials for the show come with a hefty price tag. Due to the nature of my art, printing and canvas eat up my income before I can even begin the painting process. In my budget listed below, you’ll see a very general breakdown of costs I’ve come up with for what I need to make the show awesome. This is where you come in.
This campaign will help me focus on the costs of making the event successful aside from my art, and would save me from having to worry about funding for both. My plans for the show include hiring a live DJ, having cocktails available, T-shirts for sale, and food trucks on site. With your help, I’ll be able to make my first gallery show everything it should be, and I’m sure the event will be a huge success.
WHY SHOULD YOU HELP?
That’s a great question. The answer is because I’m awesome. JUST KIDDING!
My personal goal is to donate a portion of the proceeds from my gallery sales to the Special Olympics. I want to have as much work up as possible to sell for their benefit. I used to be a regular volunteer when I lived back east and admire the organization and I’d love to be able to continue contributing to the organization’s cause through my art.
