We came up with the concept of Snow Bunnies over 3 years ago and have pondered it as we worked corporate jobs wondering how we would ever be able to execute on our idea. Once we discovered crowd funding, we were instantly excited as we knew this forum would finally give us the chance to fulfill our dream of opening Snow Bunnies! The Project Goal is to obtain enough funding to open our inaugural Snow Bunnies Bar and Grill in the world-class ski destination of Breckenridge, Colorado.
Snow Bunnies is a fun, classy restaurant and bar based around the active social mountain lifestyle-but with a twist. If you have ever been to the mountains and spent a long day skiing, hiking, or biking – you know the best thing to do is to gather with friends and family at the end of the day and have cold drinks, great food, and socialize with others – sometimes termed as après ski.
Wikipedia defines après ski as “going out, having drinks, dancing, and generally socializing after skiing.” Snow Bunnies will embrace this attitude…but you don’t have to ski first! While our patrons will no doubt come in after enjoying the day’s activities…they will be just as likely to come in anytime for our fabulous food, cold drinks, and social atmosphere.
The twist? Our servers and bartenders will be Snow Bunnies! What is a Snow Bunny? Snow Bunnies are the natural, girl next door types that love the mountain lifestyle. They are playful, athletic, cute and will be highly trained to provide extreme customer service. So check out our video if you haven’t already and we’ll show you what we’re talking about!
This is not a typical “breastaurant.” We will not be a “corporate franchise”; nor will we be exploiting our staff. We also won’t focus on girls with big breasts, require push up bras, or the like…we want cute, natural all-American mountain girls. The costumes will be sexy no doubt and will change based on the season. In winter, imagine a cute snowboarding chick with a winter hat, pigtails, and tight ski pants serving you delicious food. In summer, cut-off jean shorts and sports bras. And of course in fall, we will have sexy Octoberfest costumes. No bunny ears and tails here…not that we have anything against that, but our friend Mr. Heffner might not enjoy our use of those items!
The Style:
Snow Bunnies will be set in a rustic, casual ski-lodge atmosphere. It will become your favorite local tavern and a place you will consistently meet your friends…it will become “your” bar. It will not be a franchise mega-bar with lots of “cheesy flare” if you know what we mean. A large timber bar will be the center of attention and the entire place will be designed to ensure social interaction among our guests vs. rows of endless dining tables. This will not be a sports bar. That said, we will have multiple TV’s for the big games and are always happy to tune in any sporting event you want to watch.
We’ll have cozy seating areas and of course a massive rock fireplace. Loving the outdoor life, we will have a large outdoor patio open year round with a fire pit to continue to encourage relaxation and socializing. Snow Bunnies will be tasteful enough that you can bring the whole family during the day and early evening and our customer base will be both females and males equally. Come 10:00PM, we will rearrange our tables to create a dance floor with a DJ to allow both locals and vacationers to party down! And of course our lovely Snow Bunnies will be there the entire time taking care of your every need and joining in the fun on the dance floor.
The Restaurant:
No extreme “man food”, un-original bar food, or over priced chicken wings here. Think trout cakes (like crab cakes but made with trout), homemade steak chili, Kobe beef sliders, salads, braised beef short ribs, and more! We will use local ingredients from local vendors whenever possible. Our Chef earned his culinary degree at Le Cordon Bleu, the world’s premier culinary arts institute. He’s worked in a number of the finest restaurants in Los Angeles and Denver, and was classically-trained by some of the top chefs in the country.
The Bar:
In the mountains, we love our micro-beers. As such, we will have a wide selection of beers from local micro-breweries, as well as a large selection of domestic beers and fine wine. In addition to our large main bar, we will have communal beer-garden type tables to ensure social interaction among our customers and the Snow Bunnies.
Our signature drink and claim to fame will be the Shot-Ski! What is a Shot-Ski? It is a single ski with four shot glasses affixed to it filled with your choice of liquor or beer. Four people will take their place in front of the shot-ski, lift and drink together-what could be more fun and social!!
Events and Music:
Snow Bunnies will have regular live music, generally from 4:00PM to 9:00PM. Genres will range from bluegrass, classic rock, reggae, to a medley of crowd favorites. At 10:00PM, we will bring out the DJ who will play the latest dance hits and take your requests to ensure an awesome late night party.
Throughout the year, we will have special events such as 1980’s themed Ski Parties, amateur Snow Bunny contest, killer Halloween parties, a sexy Octoberfest, and much, much more. Winter, spring, summer, or fall – Snow Bunnies is guaranteed to make you happy.
WHERE WILL YOUR MONEY GO?
Our funding goal is a minimum of $250,000 which will be used to secure a location and open Snow Bunnies. Yes, this is a lot of money…but it will take a lot of money to ensure Snow Bunnies has a premier location in a world class resort town. This funding goal is the bare minimum to open and we are hopeful that with your help, that our funding will far exceed our funding goal.
ADDITIONAL FUNDING:
Additional funding received above our Funding Goal will be used for additional mini-projects, such as the patio build-out, fire-pit installation, etc. Should we substantially exceed our funding goal, we would turn to our next Projects which would be the opening of additional Snow Bunnies in other mountain locations such as Vail, Tahoe, Big Bear, Mount Hood, Vancouver, and Interlaken, Switzerland.
