Welcome to our Indiegogo campaign! We're launching this campaign to help turn Food Battle into an awesome game that will be bigger and more ambitious than anything we've ever made to date! This game will be for you and the Smosh community so it'll beoffered as a FREE GAME on iOS, PC...and now Android!!
Such a big game idea requires hiring talented game developers and artists, plus a lot of hard work! We promise that ALL funds we raise will go toward the production of this game (AND a charity...see that section below). The more we raise, the more we can bring to you.

ABOUT THE GAME
Food Battle: THE GAME is a 3D single-player action adventure game. Guide Anthony through multiple unique worlds where you can unlock and equip his favorite foods as weapons to help you battle Ian's hordes of evil donut minions. And you'll need every weapon in your arsenal if you hope to survive the pink frosted final boss!

Developer Diary: October 8
Hey Everyone, here’s our latest update for this week. We’re really excited to show you the final concept art for Ian!
Many of you commented that the hair didn't look quite right so we worked tirelessly with the concept artists to give that cut just the right amount of bowl. We also gave him this manly five o'clock shadow.
Below you’ll find a progression of Ian’s character, where we ultimately tweaked #2 to the final designs you see above.

Developer Diary: September 30
We wanted to share the initial concept art for the Baker, who will be the creator of the donut minions!
The final Baker concept is the last image (with the blue shirt).
We asked the concept artists to give him an epic mustache and cover him in food stains so it looks like he’s just been making some mutant pastries.

DEVELOPER DIARY: SEPTEMBER 23
Sorry a few weeks have gone by since the campaign ended!!! We've been working hard with our Smosh team to fulfill all the perks you have so generously funded. Starting today, we'll be making weekly developer diary updates (every Monday) so we can continue updating you guys on game progress and get more of your feedback. The game is planned to be released Summer 2014!
Awesome Donut Minions Updates:
Bacon Maple Bat has a pair of bacon wings to swoop down from the sky! Hopefully someone’s thought to dry those wings or this could get greasy. Cinnamon Twist Snake looks super delicious, but don’t take a bite because he will bite back! Eclair Hound may look like a friendly puppy, but a simple “Sit! Stay!” is not gonna cut it.

We have more facial expressions for Maple Bar! He’s one of our favorite donut minions so we’re hoping you’re as excited as we are. He’s like a cool swamp monster in an old horror film with these faces below:
We have a color update to Stevie's character with some new facial expressions...like happy, sad, shocked, and...I don’t even know what that last one is, but it looks like a face that Stevie would make!
Stevie will also be wearing his signature jorts so you can see him in all his jort-wearing glory in Food Battle: The Game. Let’s just hope the animators never decide to make him bend over!

Hey guys! This will be our final developer diary before our campaign ends THIS FRIDAY, August 23rd, and we have a bunch of new things to share with you!

DEVELOPER DIARY: AUGUST 12
Hey everyone! Thanks for all of your awesome feedback. With your help, we made some good revisions and decided on which donut boss to feature. Keep reading to learn more about Anthony's weapons and hear about the game story.
The player's weapons will be crucial for defending the village against all of the evil donut minions! Check out this concept art for some of our weapons that are currently in development. They will be used to fight off enemies, plus solve puzzles throughout the game! Let us know what you think of these new weapons with the hashtag #weapons in the comments. 2) THE STORY
We've put a lot of effort into creating an epic story for Food Battle: THE GAME. It begins in a small village that once had a prosperous donut factory. The greedy baker tried splicing donut and human DNA to replace his workers with donut minions and it went HORRIBLY WRONG! The aggressive donut minions preferred fighting to working and the baker lost control. It was up to the villagers to destroy them while the baker shut down the factory and went into hiding. Everything was peaceful until donut minions suddenly appeared and started attacking! Help us fight them and defend the village!

DEVELOPER DIARY: AUGUST 2
Hey everyone! We’re excited to show you concept art today! This is the first installment of our Developer Diary series that will give you guys a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Food Battle: THE GAME!
1) CONCEPT ART PROCESS
We are collaborating with talented concept artists from Liquid Development, a studio that has worked on games such as Halo 4, Borderlands, Mass Effect 2 and Fable 2! Pretty awesome, right? CLICK HERE to see what other titles they have worked on...we’re sure you have played a few of them! The concept art process helps us nail down the spirit and art direction we want for the characters and environments. These sketches are not literal, in-game art yet so we’ll keep you posted when we get to that part of the game creation process!
We wanted to show you work-in-progress (not finished) concepts so we can get your feedback while we are still making creative decisions!
2) CHARACTER CONCEPTS
THE BOSS: Ian's Pink Frosted Sprinkled Donut Monster
Version 1: His mouth and teeth are made from the frosting dripping from the donut hole. His donut shape is smoother and rounder than Version 2. His hands and legs are more dough-y and he has frosting on his fingers and arms.
Version 2: He has actual teeth and his eyes are more squinty. His arms and legs are more human.
Sketch #1: The monster has a whip in this sketch. We're not sure we like the whip but we thought we could give him a different weapon to hold. What weapon do you think he should have?
Sketch #2: He looks like he’s ripped off a part of his donut-self to throw dough at the player.
Sketch 3: The donut monster is shooting something like donut jelly made of acid...or fire...or lasers! You can also see someone hiding. We’re not gonna tell you who it is...but you can probably guess.
THE DONUT MINIONS: These little evil guys will be a common enemy you see in the game so we want to make sure we get them exactly right. Our favorite ones are A and D.
THE PLAYER: You'll be playing as me (Anthony)! Here are some very rough sketches capturing how the player might look when he moves.
3) ENVIRONMENT CONCEPT
We’ve easily clocked in thousands of hours playing The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. Our concept artist knows it is one of our all-time favorite games and painted this level (below) which we are calling The Grasslands. We want it to be a big, brightly-colored, open environment that a player could imagine themselves exploring.
4) TO ALL YOU ANDROID USERS
We’ve seen all your comments and we hear you! We’re excited to announce we will be offering Food Battle: THE GAME on the Android platform as part of this campaign. Help us reach our goal to make this game for you! We’ve just posted a new Beta access perk for Android users only (look to your right)!

We want to host a donut party in the town with the greatest number of funders as a thank you for your support! How will this work? Anyone who contributes $1 or more will be able to vote for a city of their choice. We will send out an email with a link to our city survey, so be sure to vote then. (Come oooon Vegas!) GIVING BACK: CHARITY FAQ
By contributing to Food Battle: THE GAME, you’ll ALSO help out a good cause! 10% of the total proceeds you contribute will be donated to three charities that we feel strongly about – Do Something, Child's Play and FEED USA.
How will this work?
You guys determine how much each organization receives from this charity pool based on the number of votes received. We want everyone to have a say in how much each charity gets so you don't need to participate in the campaign in order to vote. (Each charity will receive a percentage of the pool corresponding to the percentage of total votes received from our Smosh fans: for example, if Do Something receives 50% of the votes, Do Something will receive 50% of the pool, if Child's Play receives 30% of the votes, Child's Play will receive 30% of the pool, and if FEED USA receives 20% of the vote, FEED USA will receive 20% of the pool.) BETTER YET, we are guaranteeing a minimum donation of $1,500 to each charity!

What is each charity's mission?
Do Something encourages young people to create their own vision for making a difference in their community. Specifically, we want to focus on bullying. FEED USA is a new campaign to improve school food all across America. Since our game is centered around food, we felt this one was especially relevant!

FAQ (FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS)
Will this be a free game?
Yes! We have been so pleased with the outpouring of support that we have decided to make the game free across all platforms. Since this is a game funded by you guys, it is super important to us that our entire Smosh community has the chance to play the finished product for FREE.
If I am an international funder, are there additional shipping costs?
Yes. If you are an international funder, you will find your additional shipping costs included at the bottom of each perk. When you check out, be sure to manually add in this amount (Indiegogo does not do this for you!)
If I am a campaign funder, when will I receive my perks?
All campaign perks will be mailed out on or before December 1, 2013. We'll announce more information about our donut party, but expect that to happen sometime winter/spring 2014.
Who should I share my campaign link with?
Share the campaign with everyone you know! Remember, this is not just restricted to email, you can share on Twitter and Facebook too. Don’t be afraid of annoying friends and family...
What are in-app upgrades?
We want to give you a chance to vote on what these exclusive in-app upgrades will be! There will be a poll sent to you at the end of the campaign for you to weigh in.
Why do I no longer see my perk?
Don't worry! We are constantly taking down and replacing perks as they sell out. If you no longer see your perk, YOU WILL STILL RECEIVE IT. It just means we wanted to make room for even more awesome reward tiers!
