I've been interested in time lapse photography for quite some time. When motion in time lapse became popular, I knew I needed to be a part of 'the movement'. Looking at other time lapse dolly systems I realized that they were out of reach for the average hobbyist photographer or time-lapse enthusiast. This needed to change, and I wanted to be the one to do it.
My first time lapse dolly was made using a barbecue motor and various other 'leftovers'. It was rough around the edges, but it worked. I knew there was a way to build on this, and turn it in to something that was affordable enough for the masses, but with enough functionality for any level.
Enter Slidetracked - Affordable motion!
Should Slidetracked become successful, it would mean complete linear motion time-lapse functionality at an unparalleled price. This product would be the first of many affordable tools I'd like to provide to all types of photographers.
My goal for this campaign is to test the waters as far as interest in this type of product. I hope to receive enough pre-orders for systems to allow for the bulk purchase of materials, and for the creation of injection molding forms or custom machining.
The dolly in the video is a prototype, plastic components of final product may differ slightly.
UPDATE: All supporters will receive custom machined plastic components with their systems, regardless of whether or not the campaign goal is reached.
** Please Note - Worldwide shipping is available for ALL perks. Shipping to US and Canada included in Perk amount, for locations outside North America, please send a private message with your address, or email email@example.com and a shipping quote will be provided.
Components not included: Tripods, camera intervalometer, and ball head.
