We are extremely pleased to announce that our goal of celebrating the
Gnostic Mass at this year's
Burning Man Festival (August 27 - September 3) is manifesting well and we are currently in our final planning stages for this historic event.
Under the auspices of
OTO US Grand Lodge, a dedicated team of Order members has partnered with
Sacred Spaces Village to establish a Thelemic enclave (Serpent Flame) within this very supportive community.
As you may know, Burning Man brings tens of thousands of people together from all over the world, many of whom desire to experience something transcendent and to be exposed to alternative lifestyles and narratives from those prevalent in our wider culture.
This opportunity has us uniquely positioned to promulgate the Law of Thelema through the celebration of our central ritual as well as through offering classes and workshops on magick, yoga, and alchemy. Sacred Spaces Village has an alchemy theme this year with temples dedicated to the various alchemical stages and Serpent Flame will be making our offerings, including three celebrations of the Mass, in the Rubedo (Great Work completed) temple.
In order to satisfy our objective of displaying our central ritual with “joy and beauty,” we ask that you to consider joining us by making a financial contribution that will enable us to do the following:
- Print commemorative informational missals informing people of the OTO, the Gnostic Mass, and Thelema
- Purchase Mass Supplies (Wine, goblets, candles, etc.)
- Transportation of Mass Equipment to and from the event
- Obtain additional inexpensive temple furnishings (pillows, chairs, collapsible tables, etc.)
Please note that no money herein raised will be used to defray any of our personal expenses, but will solely be applied to bringing the Gnostic Mass to the Playa.
We are looking to raise a minimum of $666 through indiegogo, though more would be extremely helpful in making this an extraordinary event. Any money left over will be utilized for further promulgation efforts within the Order.
