Send me to the Feminist Porn Con!
Hi, my name is Bianca Stone. I'm a student, sex worker, writer, speaker, and community organizer with the Bay Area chapter of the Sex Workers’ Outreach Project (SWOP Bay).
SWOP bay is a national social justice network dedicated to the fundamental human rights of sex workers and their communities. We focus on ending violence and stigma through education and advocacy.
I was invited to speak at this year's first Feminist Porn Conference organized by feminist pornographer and sex educator Tristan Taormino. The panel I will be speaking on is facilitated by queer & feminist pornographer Tina Horn and titled, “Being Out Now: how do porn performers navigate the current socio-political landscape of sexual morality and media representation?”
I'm excited to converge with international feminist pornographers, performers, and sex workers and continue to build momentum for changing our industry, ending stigma, and redefining culture.
Please consider making a donation to my campaign to help fund my trip.
What I Need & What you get
As a full time student, I work to make my monthly expenses. My fundraising goal is $800 which will pay for my travel costs to make the conference in Toronto.
As a sex worker and performer, I get requests to sell my panties, nylons, autographed photos, and spend time on web-cam with fans. This IndieGogo campaign is a more intentional plan of selling services I already provide in order to raise funds in time for my trip.
The Impact
Funding my IndieGogo is just one example of how you can support the growing genre of feminist pornography and sex workers making art and redefining culture.
There are many queer-feminist folks who need support getting to the Conference! I am just one of these many folks making my way to the Con to participate.
I plan to write about my trip, and share all that I learned at the conference so those who were unable to attend can stay in connection with what we are doing!
There are many ways to support feminist, queer, and sex worker produced pornography, art, and culture. The Statement of Purpose below was originally posted by Queer Fat Femme on their blog (QueerFatFemme.tumblr.com).
"As diy punks, we value community, and believe that the relationships cultivated by art and work and shared vision contribute to rich creative experience and higher quality production.
As poltically-minded artists, we believe in using sexually explicit media as a platform for documenting and archiving the sexual expression of the disenfranchised (ie those who don’t see their bodies, gender, desires, lifestyle, or erotic pastimes represented in culture or media)
As feminists, we believe that our work is essentially revolutionary because the female queer gaze is a radical tool to exploit the pornographic medium
As queers, we believe in reinforcing an open definition of Queer as an all-inclusive, empowering identity for EVERY HUMAN."
thank you for taking the time to read my campaign.
in solidarity,
Bianca Stone
