What is Sebastian?
Sebastian is a unique larger-than-life steel statue of the model Sebastian Sauvé. Taking its main inspirations from the myth of Narcissus, Charles Ray’s Boy with Frog and the Greco-Roman depictions of the youth Antinous, this project is both an exploration of contemporary representations of the masculine form and a comment on the icon and its place in contemporary culture. Alongside the finished stainless steel statue, which will stand over 8 feet tall, a number of smaller identical limited edition versions are being produced. Once complete, the full-size statue will be exhibited internationally before finding a permanent home. The image below shows you what the finished statue will look like.

What We Need & What You Get
Thanks to a handful of investors (really, thank you!), we've already done the first part of the project, the 3D scanning, modelling and printing/casting, and now we need to raise funds to complete the full-size statue for exhibition. In order to do that we're offering identical smaller limited edition versions of Sebastian as perks for your contribution. There's a 6 inch (15 cm) version cast in stone resin (in an edition of 50) and a 20 inch (50 cm) version cast in bronze (in an edition of 15). There's also a poster and a vest/tank top featuring the statue and some other cool stuff too, including the chance to meet the model and attend the invitation only private view in London, check out the pics below and info on the right. From the tests we've done so far we think the limited edition statues look amazing and hope you do too.

The Impact
This statue will be around forever. Well, maybe not forever but for a long, long time. Given the nature of stainless steel it'll last for hundreds and hundreds of years and we hope that in the future it will become as important a work as those that have inspired it. This type of work is something that comes along once in a lifetime and we want you to be a part of making it happen.
Other Ways You Can Help
You can make a huge difference to the success of the project by helping to spread the word. The full details of the project, all the inspirations and the process behind making it, as well as lots more images, can be found on the project website:
