After adopting a wonderful puppy from Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) this summer, I have decided to help the organization raise money to save innocent dogs and cats from being killed. ARF in Contra Costa County, CA saves dogs and cats that have run out of time at public shelters.
The funds I raise will provide much-needed supplies to help the animals while at this shelter.
ARF is a no-kill shelter that strives to create a safe and loving community where every animal has a home.
ARF was founded by former St. Louis Cardinal's player, Tony La Russa and his wife, Elaine La Russa in 1991.
From July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013 2,001 dogs and cats were adopted at ARF. 3,067 spay and neuter surgeries took place at ARF. 170,468 pounds of pet food were delivered to ARF. 84,649 adult volunteer hours were redeemed. 183,569 people visited by ARF therapy animals. Help us raise these numbers and change lives by donating money this holiday season so that each animal has the chance they deserve.
