Here is some history on just a few of the small custom builders we support:
Flanders Motorcycle Handlebars - American Made:
In August of 1945 Lucile and Earl Flanders decided to turn their cherished hobby of motorcycling into a full time career. Earl had been an avid rider in California desert events and felt the key to his success was his custom made handlebars. He began by meticulously hand fabricating each handlebar, designing them for and naming them after racing greats, such as Ed Kretz, Skip Fordyce, Earl Farrand and Jack Milne. The list became so great that numbers needed to be assigned to the handlebars, thus becoming the Flanders Classic handlebar line. The legacy of quality construction and superior service has since been carried on by Earl's sons and grandchildren.
C&C Motorcycle Seats - American Made:
Please allow me to introduce C&C Motorcycle Seats to
you, my name is Chuck, my partner is Chuy. Together we have been building
custom cycle seats for over 15 years, working in Research and Development,
Custom Seat Dept. and Customer Support for a few large seat mfg's. This
experience has taught us what their clients are looking for in Comfort, Looks
& Value. In 2003 we started building Custom Seats for some local builders,
and in 2004 we developed our own line of Harley seats, combining the
"Features and Benefits" of our custom seat line, we offer Harley
owners a custom seat, at a value price. We've been getting rave reviews from our
clients, it's easy to see with all the features we build into our seats, you
won't find a comparable seat for the value.
Thank you for your time,
C&C Motorcycle Seats
The Leatherworks Motorcycle Saddlebags - American Made:
The Leatherworks is your source for custom made leather motorcycle saddlebags, solo bags and motorcycle accessories. Our American made leather saddlebags are made to your specifications to work on your Harley Davidson, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph, Victory, Indian, and Excelsior Henderson. Home of the Nickel Bag. Philip Thacher opened The Leatherworks in September 1976 in Stockton, CA. He initially manufactured custom handmade sandals, belts, wallets, purses, and other small leather items. No job was too small; he was an artist seeking perfection. One day in the late 1970’s a customer asked Philip to make a set of leather saddlebags for their motorcycle. There is great local controversy as to who has the original set. As time moved forward, word of mouth spread and interest blossomed from single customer orders to opening numerous dealers. It didn’t take long for Philip to realize he needed to expand the line and build his brand. He decided to add Indian Head Nickels as his identifying symbol; besides, he enjoyed the double entendre of the “nickel bag.” Quality Custom & American Made. Today, Aimee Thacher continues the legacy of maintaining a top quality product custom designed to meet your specifications. The Leatherworks starts with top quality materials and we quality control the product from beginning to end. We offer more custom options than anyone in the industry. In that sense, nothing has changed.
