Samuel's Heart
OK, let me start out three years ago, before I was even born. My mom and dad met at a dance, and although they were from two very different countries, fell in love. They were soon married and expecting their first child, my sister Khanali. The excitement and anticipation of her arrival only contributed to the love they already formed for her even before she was born. To their suprise she was ready to come 8 weeks early! When Khanali was born she was so active and healthy! Unfortunately she became ill about two weeks later and passed away taking her last breath in my father's arms. That was so difficult for my mom and dad, but they have slowly overcome some of their grief in her passing and have found joy in my life.
I was an unexpected blessing for my mom and dad. They did not think they were able to have another child so soon after my sister, but here I am! I too could not wait to come into this world and arrived a few weeks early. Weighing 4lbs. 5 oz I was in the hospital for about two weeks. I was being tested for multiple things, and while there they found that I have a congenital heart defect. I also need special formula to keep on my weight. I may look big, but I still am just 8lbs at three months old. This has led to multiple visits to the hospital, testing, and more treatment and care that my parents are struggling with. Although I love the nice nurses because they cuddle with me, I would rather be with my mom and dad, healthy and happy. I really need help with the expenses of the procedures for my pulmonary stenosis. One procedure involves putting a little balloon in between the heart valve to widen it. Although I love balloons, I am a bit nervous if I have one in my heart! I know after my mom and dad lost my sister, this is very stressful and I just want to ease their burden without having to worry about the funds to pay the medical bills. Any bit of your contribution will help us cover the expense for my treatment! With the proper care I know I will grow big and tall like my dad, and maybe even be a Kenyan runner like him!
What We Need & What You Get
We need help in raising funds to contribute to my medical expenses for my heart and other health issues. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated. The $5000 dollars will pay the medical premium for my heart monitor and EKG's and special formula I need to eat to be healthy. Anything in addition to that will help with other procedures for my pulmonary stenosis. In return for your kind contribution and gesture we will be forever grateful! If a monetary contribution is not something you can do, then please volunteer at a local hospital in the children/infant unit. They love seeing happy faces and people that care, it helps them take their minds off of why they are there! Thanks again for taking time to read my story, and help me out.
