BECOME A VENTURE CAPITALIST
Sailors NYC is still looking for potential serious venture capitalists who would be interested in investing in our start-up. Whether you are a VC or know people who are – please send them our way: info@sailorsnyc.com
Sailors NYC launched its crowdfunding marketing campaign via Indiegogo on December 2012. The idea was to introduce Sailors NYC to the world and to raise awareness of New Yorkers to “the new kid on the block”. In 45 days we succeeded to get thousands of engagements via social media, as well as generate funds which will be used as start-up capital for the business in its first days.
WE WISH TO THANK: 1,200 unique viewers of the campaign video, 84 funders who contributed a sum of $3,221, 3 businesses who joined us to promote this effort , 50 new likes to our facebook page (an increase of 33%!), 130 new followers on our Twitter account (an increase of 350%!), over 3,000 on social media personal introductions to prospective investors, clients, sponsors and vendors and all to all good vibes!
At a bird's view
My name is Nitzan Levy and I'm an a Israeli licensed captain and a marketing professional. Upon my arrival to NYC I was eager to sail around. I was surprised I couldn't find anything but very limited sailing options (seasonal day sailing on 24' boats). As an established entrepreneur I saw saw a business opportunity and decided to open a sailors club that could provide year-round activities and a fleet of medium sized (30'-40') sailing vessels.
After 10 months of intensive research and meeting with hundreds of NYC Metro Area sailors, my gut feeling got a solid confirmation. NYC sailors are currently commuting hours in order to get a decent sailing experience, while the stunning sites of the NYC skyline is right around their corner!
Supporting us today will guarentee the opening of an exciting sailing season in May 2013 and the opening of more recreational sailing adventures to the people of the New York Metro Area!

The Impact
Sailing brings people together, enhances their social and professional skills and their life perspective. Good sailors are not being measured by their sailing level but also by their spirit, passion and connection to nature and respecting its elements.
As mentioned above - in the past 10 months I met and sailed with hundreds of sailors in the NYC Metro Area. These encounters created a large network of sailors of all ages and businesses of various industries that are following our efforts and supporting our efforts in different ways: from connecting us to more people who share the same interest through attending our monthly meetups to donating their time and professional skills to help promote this exiting venture.
Other Ways You Can Help
