Hi everyone, my name is Ed Cabellon and I have worked in Student Affairs in Higher Education since 1997. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about helping graduate students grow professionally, through formal education and networking opportunities. In recent years, it has been more difficult for Graduate Students to travel to professional conferences. My goal is to raise funds to help support four graduate students in 2012 with four $500 scholarships.
The scholarship money we raise together will go to four, second-year / job-searching graduate students in Student Affairs related Graduate Programs through an application process (still TBD). They will be able to use the $500 towards conference registration or travel costs. This will give four graduate students an opportunity they would not have orginally had. Imagine your time in graduate school, did you have the opportunity to travel? If you did, how important was it in your overall search? If you didn't, would your attendance at a conference been helpful?
What We Need
From now until June 30th, we need your donation to hit our goal of $2,000. Every contribution, whether small or large, makes a difference. Do you or someone you know, own a business? Please invite them to our cause to support our graduate students who need this help.
Other Ways You Can Help
Please share this campaign with your friends on Facebook, your followers on Twitter, and subscribers to your blog. The more people that know about this, the better our chances in reaching our goal.
Thank you so much in advance for your help. The money raised is an investment in future Student Affairs professionals who will impact college students across the country, and maybe on your campus!
