At Rydon we believe that your bicycle light should always be there, just like your handlebar or saddle. It has to be permanently mounted on your bicycle and should always work, so you never have to worry about it. With this concept in mind we started the development of the Rydon Pixio about 5 years ago. We have designed and tested a lot of ideas until we could fit it all together in one unique product.
We have finished all the production tools and tested the first production samples. We are ready to put the Rydon Pixio on the market.
To produce the lights at a competitive price, we need to order a minimum quantity of 1000 pieces. We will use the earnings from this campaign to produce the lights and build a small stock of lights. Then we will also have the financial means to start marketing activities to make the lights available in the stores.
What's in it for you?
As a backer of our project you will be one of the first to get a your very own Rydon Pixio from the very first production batch and the satisfaction of knowing you were one of the individuals who helped us make the Rydon Pixio a success. This campaign is a fixed funding campaign, which means we need to reach our goal of 20.000 euro. For backers, this means that you either get a really cool product if we reach this goal, or we refund your money if we don't reach it.

The Rydon Pixio contains several unique features:
One of the smart features is the integrated solar panel, which will convert every beam of sunlight into energy and stores it in the batteries, so you will never have to replace your batteries.
The special batteries hold 75 hours worth of light, which is sufficient for roughly two years of use without sunlight. With only 5 days of sunlight, the batteries are fully charged again and ready for another 2 years of use.
The Rydon Pixio uses the sunlight in the summer to charge the batteries for the winter. Just riding your bike in the summer gives enough energy to get you through the winter. You don’t have to put your bicycle in the sun all the time, you can park it anywhere you want, even in a garage with no light.
Installation is very easy with the included special installation tool. The light can be mounted permanently on tube diameters between 10 and 25,4 mm. The included adapter can be used for tube diameters smaller than 16 mm. The included installation tool allows you to mount your Rydon Pixio tightly on your bicycle. The locking mechanism is theft proof. Only with the included tool it is possible to release it. If you buy a new bike in the future, you can use the same special tool to dismount the light and install it again on your new bike.
The Pixio has a regulated light output, resulting in a constant brightness, even when the batteries are low. The light output is moderate and non-blinding for oncoming traffic, as the main goal of the Pixio is to be seen at night. On top is a small window to let you know if the light is on or off.
Cheap disposable bicycle lights use valuable natural resources, such as oils to make plastics and are only used for a limited time. Changing the batteries cost more than buying a new bicycle light, so most people just buy a new bicycle light. The Rydon Pixio also uses these valuable natural resources, but the superior design lets you enjoy it for years. Therefore the total amount of valuable natural resources that are used, is much lower. The Pixio uses rechargeable batteries that are automatically charged by sunlight, so you’ll never have to replace your batteries and don’t have to dispose of them.
The Rydon Pixio is available in a front and rear light, the outside looks the same, just the color of the light is different. You can select a perk for a single light or a set. You can also select the deluxe set, in which case you will receive a back and front light and 5 colored sleeves.

Can I store my bicycle in my garage?
Yes you can, riding your bicycle in the summer will give you enough sunlight to recharge the batteries.
Do I need to remove the Rydon Pixio if I park my bicycle?
No, it’s not recommended. Leave the Rydon Pixio mounted on your bicycle, this way you can never forget it and the Pixio can use the sunlight to recharge the batteries. The strap can only be removed with the special included tool.
What if I forget to turn the light off?
This can accidentally happen of course. That is why we used high capacity batteries that can hold up to 75 hours of light. If it happens for a longer period of time, or multiple times, just place your bicycle in the sunlight so your light can recharge.
Can I get a custom color sleeve?
The Rydon Pixio is available in 5 colors. Special colors are an option, but this would require a minimum order quantity.
Is the Rydon Pixio waterproof?
The Rydon Pixio is fully sealed and covered with a rubber sleeve. It is not suited for diving, but you can leave it on your bicycle 24/7.
