The Smart Lights iOS application is on the Apple App Store and I am glad to announce we will be shipping out the RoboSmart Light Bulb to you tomorrow!

The initial app does basic control and configuration of RoboSmart Light Bulbs. We will continue to add useful new features to fully realize the potential of the RoboSmart Lighting System both in the near term and in the future. I have to say the engineering builds we are testing today and will submit for app approval soon are exceeding my expectations in performance and usefulness.

On the Android front we continue to stay in contact with Google and are still committed to supporting Android platforms as soon as BT 4.0 support available for 3rd party developers like ourselves. If you want to be notified periodically on progress please send me a private message to request updates and I will be happy to keep you in the loop.

Lastly we have been able to add secure field firmware upgrade support to the RoboSmart Light Bulb. This means your hardware perk has a future of new features and enhancements just by updating the bulb’s firmware when available.

Thank you for your support on Indiegogo. We appreciate your confidence in our ability to deliver the first component of the RoboSmart Lighting system. We are committed to delivering and supporting a high quality product.

Currently the hardware is ready. Tests are continuing on the bulb firmware and app software to ensure robustness and user friendliness. We have a few more tests that need to be completed before the final approval to ship. There are also FCC regulatory filings that need to be completed which we are currently expediting with an authorized testing facility.

We are in the process of submitting a new version of the app for approval with iOS6 improvements. We want to have the new version approved by the time we ship the bulb.

Given the lead times to go through the FCC test and filing process and the app approval process it looks like we will be shipping mid to late February. Since our goal is to keep our supporters satisfied Smart Home Labs is going to provide to supporters who signed up for a 2/1 perk delivery a one for one coupon redeemable on our upcoming online store front for additional bulbs. For example if you bought a 4 pack for a 2/1 delivery we will be providing you a coupon for 4 more bulbs.
