Years ago I stumbled onto an indie musician who changed my life with his work. I'm hoping to return the favor with two unique music videos tailored to him.
My name is Adam, I'm a New York-based filmmaker. Shorts and behind-the scenes documentaries for DVDs are what I do the most, recently started branching out into music videos. I've been shooting two videos for Nathan Amundson(aka Rivulets) piecemeal, and I feel they have promise and will help more people discover his heartfelt, acclaimed work. We've faced every obstacle from freak weather seasons to personal injuries killing months of time and draining funds. And we'll keep going. But the solo fundraising hurdle has taken years, and now I'm looking for help.
We've budgeted that $6,350 will help us complete both videos over the course of three weekends. We'll fly Nathan to New York(from Denver) for one of them, to shoot both of his video performances as well as his character appearances. The other two will be the remaining exteriors and interior period-piece locations we're renting, and we're also looking to fund the remaining costume/prop creation, insurance, and our equipment rentals. We've got an incredible cameraman on board as well as a passionate AD and co-producer. In exchange for your contribution we're offering everything from excellent packages of Nathan's acclaimed albums, to creating personal songs for you and more! I hope you will enjoy my pitch video and find value in our project, and in Nathan; we'll be doing tons of updates and I am grateful for any support.
If you would like more details right now after seeing our pitch:
(Note: You can find storyboards, reels, songs/clips of Nathan, casting breakdowns, press we've received, and more in the "updates" tab. Anything you don't see covered in the pitch video, it'll go there!)
How will contributions be allocated?
Some folks are generously donating their time and materials, but this is what we can't go without paying for:
-Production Insurance: $850
-Production van rentals, 3 weekends: $1100
-Camera rental/DP rate: $1500
-Nathan airfare(Denver to NYC): $350
-Studio space for performance/1 day: $400
-Period Piece location rental/1 day: $400
-Additional equipment rentals: $850
-Coffin build materials: $150
-Remaining costume costs: $200
Postproduction is already in place, from editing to coloring, with no additional added costs.
What if you fall short?
After this much time I'm determined to finish the videos however possible. If we fall short, I'll continue to shoot the videos piecemeal, though that could add another year or more to the duration it'd take to complete this. We're hoping to wrap it all this year.
When do contributors get their bonuses?
Music packages will be delivered in August. Custom songs will be delivered soon after, depending on how many Nathan needs to create. Photos will be delivered close to completion of the videos. The music video downloads will be delivered when complete(Est. December).
