On April 19th I wrote to the West Hollywood City Council about an idea to paint the crosswalks in West Hollywood rainbow coloured during the June 2012 Gay Pride.
The idea was simple; I see those white crosswalk as an empty canvas and saw an opportunity; paint them and make a statement!
Today on May the 29th I got a letter back confirming the Mayor Mr. Jeffrey Prang and Council member Mr. John Duran loved the idea but it had to put it fourth in a council meeting on Monday June 4th at6.30 PM at West Hollywood Library located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard (at Melrose). They need to vote on this project and for that we need your support and help

Martin Duvander uncovers a uniquely international vision. Growing up in Denmark, Zimbabwe and Greenland before living in Spain, England and Greece, working both in finance, advertising and software development, he is influenced by a flux of multicultural stimuli. Through his art he puts the world on canvas, carefully selecting and layering unusual materials and cut-outs from fashion magazines melding them with poetic and political statements infused with a hint of social satire. Duvander captures a street art feel combined with classical abstractism together with personal imprints in the form of poetry on canvas.
Since 2003, his work has been internationally exhibited at galleries and private foundations. Duvander lives and works in Venice, California.
Martin Duvander was recently chosen to showcase his art at the 2010 Golden Globe and the 2010 The Grammy's in Los Angeles, California.
If you choose to donate you understand and acknowledge that there are various contingencies that need to occur before I will be able to move forward with producing marketing materials, DVDs, posters, merchandise, etc. - including, but not limited, the West Hollywood City Council will need to vote to approve the ideafor use at the parade in West Hollywood, California scheduled to be held in June 2012.
The approval vote will be held on Monday, June 4th 2012. I will need to spend funds in order to prepare the council presentation and these funds may not be returnable to you should the West Hollywood City Council vote no on the proposal. You understand and agree to assume the risk that the West Hollywood City Council will vote no on the proposal and that some and/or all of your donation will not be returnable to you.
