Hi, my name is Ethan Kukulski. In May 2012, I will be directing a short film I wrote called MK-ULTRA. The story takes place in the 1950's in an underground test facility where the US Government is conducting experiments on human test subjects.
In their attempt to create super-soldiers with various chemical compounds, the project has resorted to using a gas that keeps test subjects awake, slowly unraveling their minds.
John Mills, a young, ambitious scientist, has eagerly agreed to work on the project. Soon, however, his naive eagerness is replaced by paranoia and fear as he tries to hold on to his sanity while overseeing the disturbing experiment.
This highly visual psychological thriller uses not only imaginative imagery to establish the claustrophobic mood, but also engages the audience through a haunting soundscape, making the audience feel as if they too have been confined underground for weeks on end, amid hallucinations and disembodied voices.
What It Will Take to Make it Happen
In order to realize this highly visual period piece, we need:
-Period military costuming and set decorations
-To construct sets, complete with a giant vintage analog computer
-Food and transportation for our highly talented crew
-Lens rentals to help convey our unique visual style
-Festival entrance fees
How You Can Help
Donations will make this project possible. However, it is possible to contribute to our cause just by sharing this project with friends.
We've created a teaser instead of a typical plea for cash video. Feel free to share this promo with friends and family as well.
By donating to MK ULTRA, you're also helping our future projects. MK ULTRA will be instrumental in generating interest for our prospective scripts, showing festivals and production companies what we're capable of.
I can't stress enough that by supporting this film, you're not only helping one project become a reality, but setting up the framework for our future careers in filmmaking.
What You Get Out of It
Besides knowing that you've made a major contribution in bringing my dream to realization, we have a number of perks for those who donate to the project.
Thank you for all your support, without it, this project, and my vision, wouldn't be possible!
