Allow us to introduce ourselves. I am Elliot Diviney, the Director, and with me is Brandon Van Vliet, a Producer from Restraining Hollywood. Here's our story: We're independent filmmakers from Minneapolis, MN, and we've been at this independent filmmaking thing for quite a while. What started out as a fun, spontaneous hobby has turned into a full-time, exhausting profession.
For example, we put out two feature films last fall. Maybe you've heard of them:
Potpourri (A drug-induced, time-travel, holiday, fantasy, musical, comedy with zombies): www.potpourrimovie.com
In Harm's Way (An action-packed, gritty, crime-drama, thriller): www.inharmswayfilm.com
Both films are currently in the process of getting Distribution. We had 530 people at the Potpourri premiere, and 650 at the In Harm's Way premiere. We recently wrapped production on PROBLEM SOLVING THE REPUBLIC. It was an epic, chaotic adventure. Unfortunately, we hit a huge bump in the road during the making of the film. Our extremely talented cinematographer and associate producer, Kevin Horn, had $20,000 of gear stolen out of his car. We had to incur some addional costs, and some of the money we had set aside for post production was used. And post production is a massive undertaking.
We need to hire people to color correct the film, finish and develop artwork, construct visual fx, and maintain the website. In order for this film to turn out right, these talented artists need to be paid well. We also need a hefty budget for promotion and marketing. On top of that, we're looking to raise additional funds for DVD's, theater rental, film festivals, posters, buttons, stickers, and all sorts of other fun stuff. With all of these needs, we're looking to raise $15,000. Help me indiegogo supporters, you're my only hope. If we fall short of that goal, we will have to start comprimising on some of these aspects of the film, and we sure as hell don't want to do that. On the right, you'll see the list of perks. We're giving you options on how to donate. Check 'em out!
Thank you everyone for your time listening / watching / reading our pitch. As Presidential candidate Dick Panzy would say, "Have a nice day!"
