Help Make Cinematic History:

The film canon is missing a witty, stylish and ultimately touching lesbian romantic comedy. There has never been a movie like Portrait of a Serial Monogamist: an authentic comedy about the queer community. Nobody dies, it isn’t about coming out, or characters struggling to understand their sexuality, it is a universal story about romance, comedy and relationships.

Back a Winner:

Co-writers and directors, Christina Zeidler & John Mitchell, have written a great script, begun putting together a talented ensemble of actors, and even shot a trailer to give a flavour of the film. They have done all of this with no outside funding of any kind. Your response has been over-whelingly positive and is drumming up excitement for the finished product and NOW they need your help. Every dollar raised goes directly to making the film. This movie does not happen without you, so join us and help make this groundbreaking piece of cinema!

The Story:

Elsie, a forty-something television producer and serial monogamist breaks up with her long-standing girlfriend to pursue a younger woman, only to face disapproval from friends and family and the growing realization that she may have broken up with the one she was meant to be with. Toronto and its alternative queer community will be the backdrop for a hilarious and oh so romantic comedy in the style of classic films like, Manhattan, Annie Hall & High Fidelity.

You’re On The Team:

Making a movie is a collaborative process and we see you as a partner. Every donation comes with perks, like the chance to visit the set, attend the cast & crew screening, have your portrait appear on screen, or even have input into the finished film! No matter what the amount, everything is appreciated and everything helps.
